Sunil, 02 Jan 2015What did you do... i have also rooted my Redmi... but the ram always remains 81-85%... and hea... moreSunil,
Just check my reply to someone asked about the process.
Read it fully. Do it at your own risk. Anything might go wrong if you don't know what you're doing. understand it completely before touching anything in kernel level. What I said in the reply was Tweaking a Kernel but not modifying it. So be careful. and do not install Greenify and Xposed together.. some bad combination.. It could be just the Xposed installer or my latest version 2.7 Beta Xposed Inst.. So, to be safer than sorry, stay away from both. research online. I didn't have the patience to test my phone further by killing it again and again.. Actually it's my gift to my brother.. he was already mad because I bricked it on the very second day.. I didn't want to infuriate him further.. He didn't go to sleep until I revived the phone.. LOL
All the Best..

Could you please give me some update about what you have done to get... moreI rooted the phone and I installed WLD, it showed me there were some intensive activity with a Battery management process. It supposed to save the battery, but I think it does the exact opposite. And I installed System Tuner Pro. I froze some in-apps that I felt unnecessary. Mainly I underclocked the CPU cores to my convenient level. I found mine was around 1000 Mhz according to my usage. Just experiment yours with your usage. It varies to person to person. I felt no lag or little lag while using heavy apps. That's the trade in. you can adjust it whenever you want to, though. I stopped unnecessary apps from starting up on Boot. Then general tweaking with the settings like Auto-brightness, disabling Google Now, Location, etc.
My Friendly Warning: DO NOT INSTALL GREENIFY OR XPOSED INSTALLER. It soft-bricked my phone on the very second day. I don't know what's the problem. All I wanted to do was hibernate the apps when not in use but It got stuck in the bootloop. Then I had to go through some lengthy but little unusual processes to unbrick it.. 3 stressful hours.. damn.. I confirmed it by bricking again by installing greenify and xposed installer :p So don't try it.
That's all I did.
All the Best!!!

Redmi 1S owner, 01 Jan 2015You're right its an entry level phone, but it is encountering problems out of the box..
Eve... moreYes, you are right. I too had issues with RAM, battery drain and Over heating. After V45 upgrade, it's better.. and I rooted the device and tweaked some apps.. Nothing in Kernel or OS. Voila.. Now I have 400 MB free RAM.. It's simple.. even Redmi is supporting the Root process as it has given Security app to replace Super SU.. what more can you ask for 6000 Rs phone? Everything else is super fine. Battery drain is checked and it lasts 15-16 hours as earlier it endured only 8-9 hours of the same usage.
Only thing that I didn't like is Lack of Backlight in Capacitive keys. I want that one to be incorporated in the new version.
Nothing else.
Upgrade to kitkat version
Techie, 31 Dec 2014If You get everything in entry level, then what is the use of mid range and FlagshipsYou're right its an entry level phone, but it is encountering problems out of the box..
Even its Desktop (launcher) does not remain loaded, and takes time when we exit an app.
Even then we get only 200~MB free RAM. Videos skip frames and music sometimes skips too, on the latest firmware.
That's why I believe that even 1.5GB, a boost of 500MB would be great!
Since the budget phablet, Redmi Note actually has 2GB Ram, we can't go wrong in expecting 1.5GB to solve a genuine issue, don't you think?
looking good

As it has 1 GB of RAM, only 300-200 RAM is available on first boot and it hampers the phone's ability to multitask and perform lag free. MIUI ROM is very heavily skinned and because of that it consumes a lot of RAM.
@supremo for a budget which is less than 100$, the given specs are mindblowing, and you expect more ram than 1gb!!!
beauty is the holder
want the girl but NOT the phone
Hope it supports TDD LTE 2300 Mhz and FDD LTE 1800 Mhz bands. My only grief is the 1 GB RAM which is a big bummer for MIUI ROM.
Yo bro
New mue zoo logi cool but not saties fctry prod u very low battery and no saar cerfied ,,
I'd agree the ram might wanna have just a little bump, MIUI is rather a heavy skin.
Please send update for existing redmi 1s what the meaning of making other versions kindly maintain existing models.
true value for $$$!! why waste $$ to buy rubbish fruit?
