AnonD-146024, 05 Jan 2015Metal or plastic, it they launch the flagship phone with 5.5 inch screen it's not gonna sell. And they will NOT make S6 with 5.5" display. Do not trust the iRumors,
Both S ,and Note always keep almost same device size , and just reduce the bezels.

And technically we don't know that this is even true. Its a rumor. The chances of G4 continuing this idea is more logical i n fact.

But there is also the Samsung A series. Plus the small cheaper version of G3....I forget. Or M9 like stated. Even Z3 or better yet Z4.

while reading this comment thread,I couldn't help but laugh at the irony!when samsung released plastic phones, everyone bashed the cr*p out of samsung "cheap, tacky, plastic, ugly, when will they release metal phones,etc,etc,etc.".NOW when they're finally preparing to release a metal unibody phone, everyones crying their lungs out and telling how the plastic removable back was far more superior than aluminium, they should not ditch the plastic,etc,etc,etc......

Significant improvements in design my foot! The camera sensor is still in the center and will most likely sport the same boring round cornered square. Nothing different other than the metal housing what I see from here.

Like everyone already stated it would be foolish for them to go full aluminum. Metal frame is acceptable as long as it still has the removable textured back.

As much hate as people talked on the s5 back it felt amazing in hand. Its very ergonomic, very cofortable soft touch, and quite durable. Plus the plastic handles heat better, retains better reception, and is way way way easier and cheaper to replace. And no warrantly issues with doing so or having to send the device away for the back or battery.

And please don't make the lg mistake of bluring the smaller phone line with the phablet line. 5.5 even with practically zero bezel is still very large. Not everyone wants a phablet. I personally love them, but its not what everyone wants.

And I reall hope we get that 4gb ram chip and the new high end memory chips which boast like 4 times the speed and half the power usage.
Some things samsung are missing.....what's witht the battery upgrades of the s5 and note 4?? A cruel joke? Just because everyone else does it and it shows how much more power efficient the devices have become does not mean you should re use the same size battery.
4gb ram. 2gb of ram was one of the only legit issues of the s5. It still sufficed plenty by all means....but its the flagship galaxy phone...eventually 2gb will age...they were first to use 3gb...almost anyone using 3gb is using a chip made by them....and they were close to having a 4gb chip ready....almost made it to note 4 I think.
They used to have some seriously outstanding dual speaker set ups. The speakers on the omnia were often refered to as the best for overall. So come on. Move back to stereo speakers. Make them as loud and at least if not more clear than the note 4 but with more bass....or just go quad lol.

I can't think of one single advantage of aluminium over plastic.

And since when is aluminium "premium"? Is my beer can "premium" too?

I guess Note series will remain the only "choice" for those who don't want a fashionphone, but technically good phone with good reception, tough, sd slot and big removable battery

A none removable battery will be a mistake. They've spent a long time making the removable back panel acceptable (finish wise) & I really like the tactile feel of the faux leather on the back of the Note4.
I also agree that a smaller overall footprint as possible (with as large a screen as possible) is preferable over reduced thickness. Just makes ergonomic sense.

If the rumour S6 with those 5.5" and top of the spec features are true, I'm sure it will be a turning point since the sliding sales of S4/S5. I'm sure a lot of peoples are looking forward to this new model.
