Agh85, 12 Jan 2015It's high time Apple wakes up to the potential of Indian buyers and offer schemes like attract... moreI was lucky enough to trade my 5 in while I was still in Oz. Got AUD230 for it, which isn't too shabby for a 2 year old phone.
I do hope they extend the trade-in to other countries, it just saves so much time not having to sell your phone via the ordinary, traditional means.

Toyota always sells more than Ferrari. Do you say that Ferrari is bad because they sold less ? of course not.
Business models followed by both companies are different. If Ferrari sells one car, they get lot of profit. Toyota must sell like 30 cars to get same profits.
If both Ferrari and Toyota sold same number of cars or 1:2 ratio, then Toyota is in trouble because they don't get enough margins from selling low-end cars as opposed to Ferrari.
Same applies for Apple and Samsung.
If Apple sells one iPhone, Samsung must sell like 10 phones to get same amount of profit. That's why Apple takes 84% of total smartphone profits worldwide even though their marketshare is less than 15% :

Every company is trying so hard to sell more phones because they couldn't make a proper high-end phone like Apple or Nokia (in past).

It's high time Apple wakes up to the potential of Indian buyers and offer schemes like attractive trade-ins and discounts on its flagships and offcourse, launch the iPhones in the first phase of its release as it does with all advanced countries like US, Canada and the UK.
Offcourse, after using the 4 and the 5, I switched to the 6 and it performs like a dream. Sure, it doesn't have mind-blowing specs, but it provides what matters the most: consistent smartphone experience and for the most part, it gets the job done better than rivals.

These numbers do not mean anything, unless it gives what number actually was bought by the retail users. Now a days, most of the companies are switching over to apple from blackberry for official mobility. So I am sure a great share of these phones would have been bought by the corporates.
