my last Samsung did not work properly from day one. freezes turns its self off, takes ages to restart. doesn't do what my finger tells it to do. I have had lots of Samsung phones. but wont be buying this Samsung or any other.
AnonD-4340, 13 Jan 2015So what, who cares about the opinion of an extreme Xperia fanboy, only Sony can do anything ri... moreDont know about Sony, but sammy is certainly crapping it...
You know it yourself, but being a sammy fanboy, you just can't accept the fact...
Samsung needo a phone like this to win back the low end market share from Huawei and other OEMS who are making cheap phones. Not every one can afford flagship phones at high price good work Sammy. Please make it cheap.
4GB on board storage is unusable. Android 4.4 does not allow apps to be installed on micro-sd card. The user will not be able to install any apps or even upgrade the os. A big FAIL by Samsung. Also what is the point of LTE on such a low end phone? Does the target market look like they will subscribe to LTE? If Samsung is losing revenue they should look into the mirror and ask why they are producing such trash for the market.
AnonD-326248, 12 Jan 2015Ok for every letter in the alphabet there will be one Galaxy! No other company doing confu... more"Galaxy" from Samsung stands for "Android". The same as "Xperia" from Sony or whatever company you choose. They all brand their Android powered phones by a certain moniker ever since they moved on from Symbian/Bada/WebOs/MeeGo/Whatever
With Pantech bankrupt, there is no incentive for sammy to up thier game. Jeez.
Whats the point with this phone. Competion by its own company.
Range 100 different models. There is no sanity in this. It's like how many grand max lite ace j, v x have we sold. Well there was one dude how bought v serie. What!!!! just one dude. Yeah. and how many ace series. well it was two families and a dog. Ok Ok stop whats todays agenda. We can make IO series. Well that is a good move. Samsung you are rubbish at best. No No No lets make L series. Its like ace but a little differnet ace. ccccc omfg
iPhone 6 has 1Gb ram and 1810mah battery, doesn't looks like a toy to me
Samsung doesn't sell as much phones anymore, so the strategy is to release even more phones than before, and hopefully something will catch up?
A typical conversation between a customer and service rep:
C: I need a case for Samsung phone
S: which phone?
S: THe model?
S: Galaxy what?
C: Galaxy 5
S: Oh Samsung galaxy S5?
C: I think so, (pulls out the phone)
S: Doesn't look like a S5, let me see... looks like the S5 mini plus square root
C: Yeah, that's it
Now, substitute phone with tab 4, tab pro, tab note, tab 3, tab S.. and you get the same convo every time.
wiemar, 12 Jan 20151gb ram and 1850mAh battery at 2015? Nice joke. Now its toy for kidsRead again..it's a low-end device. So much sarcasm in this world though XD
Dot-WiFi, 13 Jan 2015they take old device , change a lil bit design , put new wallpaper
tada ! new phone ! suc... moreBetter than 2014 new phone anyway, the year when the rolling pin was the main tool for making new phones, take the previous model, let a housewife use her rolling pin on it for a minute and voila, bigger and thinner new model.
Im very happy to see that Samsung isnt using this method for the J1, and hopefully that CPU isnt too shabby. Cant hope for GPU power but thats ok for entry level, simple games will still work fine, i bet even TR2 will look ok.
Im not into low end phones but looking forward to test the new entry level class with quadcores and 1GB RAM, who knows, maybe they have finally become useable.

[deleted post]Yeah, because the "average" consumer walks into a store and asks "Do you have a Galaxy Note 4 Edge?"... they just go, do you have that samsung with the funny rounded display on its side...
