AnonD-193514, 13 Jan 2015ok samsung get your point, if i were to run android on tizen, why not i go with android, ... moreFor now, samsung just want there OS to be lauched then they will know how they can develope it. Even with there Exynos processor, its not that powerful but they have been consitent with it and they are closing the gap between it and qualcom snapdragon.
s1, 14 Jan 2015i do not think that tizen will make it in a world of android windows ios even bb10 and firefox... moreIt will make it, and even supassing them. Samsung are good at marketing
aaa, 14 Jan 2015remember the Bada (Total failure), why hardware companies try to make their own OS leave that ... moreThey want to have there own ecosystem like apple. And google and microsoft have gone into there business (the business of manufacturing hardware; phones watches e.t.c) they don't feel secure; maybe one day these software giants may bring in restrictions in the future so that they can win more market share of there devices its high time to start preparing a way out.
Of course for now it will strugle as it is young but samsung is a very determined company so they will make sure it grows.
The OS is likely to perform better on exynos processor and touchwiz since they will optimise it for that.
AnonD-295464, 13 Jan 2015Who exactly is gonna buy this phone?Learn this pal, some people are not even aware of the so called operating system. All they will see is that there is a new and cheap samsung phone and they will buy. Some people will get it to have a different taste, others to explore and have a feel of the new operating system. Besides, samsung are good at packing there softwares with a lot of features so this OS will have more features than any mobile OS so it will be worth going for.
remember the Bada (Total failure), why hardware companies try to make their own OS leave that for software companies and spend the extra cash you have to make hardware innovation.

Most of the guys here confuse Samsung BEFORE and Samsung NOW.
Please, take it easy.
They started with low end devices to have time to test it first and to improve it. That's clever.
Samsung was the main reason that Android have such success . And yes - TouchWiz functionality was the key. No matter how loud few android freaks and the apple's propaganda is bashing it.
Why Samsung went Tizen? Because TouchWiz running over other OS that runs own backgrounds , make it heavy, and harder to optimize.
TouchWiz with Tizen is meant to be lighter than stock Android.
Will see if this will happen.
Just give them a chance.
Samsung is not leaving Android, though. Just forget it.
BTW No need only US to control all the peoples data. Right? (Windows, Android, iOS)
>hey, let's make a new platform, it'll beat android in a heartbeat!
>uh, well, it's been years with no devices, how about we make budget devices instead of flagships? Yep, we're totally not gonna use 3rd world countries for a shameless soak test :D
>can anybody please make apps for us? no? well, we're gonna milk android apps anyway!
At least blackberry had the guts to release a well spec'd device when they unveiled the Z10.
AnonD-295464, 13 Jan 2015Who exactly is gonna buy this phone?I am gonna buy it because it seems interesting and its gonna be my second phone
somewhat samsung's forte--the lagness will be minimized.
i do not think that tizen will make it in a world of android windows ios even bb10 and firefox it still has to go up against.
dukaki, 13 Jan 2015This will certainly help selling more phones.
However from the developer's side there will... moreNot true.
Why shouldn't android developers make their apps native to Tizen ? When they can put them on one more platform (store), with almost no effort ??
AnonD-193514, 13 Jan 2015ok samsung get your point,
if i were to run android on tizen, why not i go with android,
... moreThis is not about Android running on Tizen.
This is only about some apps that you can not find on Tizen-Store. How many they could be?
Be sure , though, that all the apps that you can find on Samsung's android devices from Samsung-App-Store there, will be converted as native to Tizen Store. That was the point they to make own App-Store on Android and duplicate many apps there.
Tizen is lighter and more power efficient than Android.
AnonD-295464, 13 Jan 2015Who exactly is gonna buy this phone?Someone, but not you ^^.
Anonymous, 13 Jan 2015Mediatek devices? I know that Huawei and others make them. Also Huawei is a decent manufacture... moreHuawei makes HiSilicon not Mediatek. And HiSilicon are awesome CPUs.
This will certainly help selling more phones.
However from the developer's side there will be no reason to make native Tizen apps since they can build an Android one for both of them. It will just be another skin IMO not an actual platform.
ok samsung get your point,
if i were to run android on tizen, why not i go with android,
why wasting money on tizen
Sarper, 13 Jan 2015People with a limited budget not everyone is rich.Mediatek devices? I know that Huawei and others make them. Also Huawei is a decent manufacturer, especially when it comes to bang for buck.
