Anonymous, 16 Jan 2015It is not broken now. I use this function and it is really fine.I've used it too.. IMO Just a pain to have to swipe.. Especially on Note 4, due to its size..

                1. Not make it obvious
                2. Not leave evidence behind

Sadly Samsung failed in both of them..

bobby21, 16 Jan 2015The samsung copycat at its best. Copy apple samsung. In business there is no such a thing like copying, Pal. If there is a new feature that is useful and loved by consumers you just need to include it otherwise you will lose your customers. A flagship phone need to have all the features consumers will love regardless of who started it.
Apple are just thick headed, they pretend not to copy new features that are introduced by others thereby denying there fans happines. They stuck to to small screens but now they have joined the rest in 5"+ screens after they noticed some reduction in the number of people buying iphones. Same with NFC. Next you will see them introducing memory card and USB flash support.
Avarage consumers all they need are features and low costs, they don't mind about the origin of the technology packed in the device.

Safer yes. NFC payments, can't say, have never tried.

But faster than PIN/Pattern? That's my question. Why lock phone with PIN or Pattern?"

Cant say about android fingerprint phones, but if the fingerprint sensor is well made (iPhone) its the fastest way to open your phone, even if you dont use pin/pattern at all, the touch id is still faster.

That was the main thing for Apple why they added touch id, to get people to protect their phones, because most of people doesnt want to use pin etc because its just annoying to write/ draw it everytime when you want to use your phone. Thats shy most of people doesnt protect their phones, touch id changed that instantly.

Copycat? That's like saying they copycatted swipe to unlock, internet capability, etc. It's technology, it's supposed to include more features. Otherwise we're at a technological standstill. And by your logic Apple copied Samsung by moving to a 4.7/5.5 inch screen.

I won't even mention how much better Samsung phones are than Apple, but if I did - water resistance, 16mp vs the pathetic 8, better software, more free apps, no mess with the unreliable icloud, and they don't bend. #YesIWentThere
