Then after the updated i noticed Menu or Apps. Button is missing. Now i can't able to access the apps. need to create shortcut for all the apps

got an update when i connected the phone to the pc . there i found 1680mb file .... after update i found it to be android 4.4.2 update... nd it says it is the latest update from lg...

it reduced the number of shortcuts (to 4 from 5) we can put besides apps drawer icon..
nothing else was noticeable

No such issues for me. Can you try restarting your phone and check again? If issue still exists, go to settings -> general -> apps -> all -> click on Home and clear cache

Even I received the software update for LG G2 yesterday. The update is google patch and app updates only. Not the OS update. Waiting for 5.0 update. Hope they give it soon.

The 160 MB update " v20d" is only a google patch for advancement of apps and it has added google voice search. Now you can sau "ok google" from any screen but not from off/lock screen.
Else wait for lollipop. May be this be hope - i.e. improvement of all apps as a prerequisite to install lollipop :)
