i wonder if the difference will be really noticeable at all on a screen with 320x480 res. anyway this probably will also be on the next ipod touch (it must also compete against zune hd so it makes sense that they wud hv it) but it seems pointless to me. i mean there is a ton of other stuff they cud address b4 like flash support for web browser, and im pretty sure this is more useful to most users. if sum1 really cares about video quality y wud they watch it on a phone?
Well then what is the resolution of the iPhone screen then?? It is not 1920x1080.... so what does that help if it can play Full HD movies?!
What bull crap GSMarena reports. anyone with a proper knowledge knows that the 600mhz processor can't encode or play 1080p even if it did it would be useless because the screen resolution is smaller than that. i started laughing when *China* was mentioned in the article, keep it up GSMarena publish this crap rumors just to make your self and the iphone fanboys feel a little bit better about your failure of a phone. how about publish the exploding iphones which Apple is ignoring ? then we can talk
what's the point in playing 1080p resolution on a 320x480 resolutino screen ???
Nonsense...
[deleted post]N900 has 800x480 resolution. Yes, it's about 4 times better than the Iphone, but still nowhere near Full HD 1080p.
I find it highly unlikely a 600MHz Cortex A8 could get anywhere near 124,291,584 pixels per second, so unless this is being done entirely in GPU it sounds like a lie to me.
Arlen, 21 Aug 2009320 x 480 pixels LCD can play 1080p resolution HD video ????this is what I thought too,, what is the purpose?? it wont fit the screen!! lol
I guess it's just geek bragging rights.
Jonade, 21 Aug 2009Still a long way to go iPhone, but till now you dont have what a silly NOKIA 1100 had with it.... moreEnjoy watching HD video on your 1100, you might be able to fit a couple of milliseconds in it's memory, but I don't know how you'd fit a program capable of playing it in there as well
It wouldn't look too good in black and white.
What a load of rubbish! why bother with a tool designing to make and receive call? There are plenty equipments out there that can do the job damn good without fooling around.
Anonymous, 21 Aug 2009apple just looove to fool around with their costumers
they launch always the same phone again... moreIf you read the source article you will see that it doesn't work on the 3G but it does on the 3GS that is due to HARDWARE differences between the two models.
What this means is you can download a movie or TV show directly from iTunes and play it back on a HD TV.
The iPhone supports video out via component video.
Why do people make comments without seeming to read the article first?
first!!!!!!!
pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato pato
every device with an omap 3430 is capable of this feature ... how is this news?
apple just looove to fool around with their costumers
they launch always the same phone again, almost no improvements, and during the year it gets old and ugly they launch a new feature by software! now they are gonna sell the rest of the stock and again, a "new" model
desperately waiting to buy this phone.
320 x 480 pixels LCD can play 1080p resolution HD video ????
Pls, can someone tell me why ipple phone are not having a radio?
there will be only one(iphone)to rule them all
Getting harder and harder to dislike iPhones now (being a ex-SE fan and all). Though, what is the point of playing 1080p vids if you can't output them with progressive scanning? 1080i is quite inferior compared with its progressive variant, plus you can't really fully utilise 1080p on the iPhone screen..... But then, maybe we should wait for the official upgrade and judge it then.
I ain't a apple fan, but I would definately consider apple if they could explain themselves regarding the exploding batteries, and if they consider adding a camera flash to the device.... Other than that - this thing is an all-in-one-wonder, gets better and better~
coool!!!!!!
