AnonD-58835, 19 Jan 2015Metal is the RIGHT choice. Problem for samsung is that the alpha brand is medium range phone, ... moreWhy? I like glass panels like iphone 4s or nexus 4, preferably with metal frame
Ok anything as long as theres non removable battery, Samsung have to stop living in last decade now when we are halfway through the current one. Phones that come in 3 pieces are almost as bad as ARA.
AnonD-58835, 19 Jan 2015Metal is the RIGHT choice. Problem for samsung is that the alpha brand is medium range phone, ... moreThey should have kept the S-line as it is.
Plastic has better reception, is more durable against drops and bumps, lighter and can look good too (S4 deep black or S5). Plus removable battery AND micro-SD-storage coupled with an excellent screens and high-end internals are what defined this series.
This should have been called another series like A.
Samsung is loosing it! They shouldn't listen to "the press" or some o/t naive complainers about the S-series. They should have really improve on the strenghts o/t S-series. E.g. increase write/read speed of sd-card/internal storage, better quality (thicker) back-panel, recessed camera instead of protruding camera, better battery-life (perhaps increase thickness by 1 mm to accomplish that).
I didn't buy my S5 because of its looks. I bought it because I wanted a fast and durable Android workhorse that gets me through the day however possible and with the most convenience. And the current kitkat S5 does that! It's fast, TW had all the bells and whistles yesterday that Lolipop has today (or tomorrow) and it's compatible with all tomorrow's-tech like wifi a/c, LTE, BT4.0, NFC, great screen, GPS/A-gps and glonass etc...
And it's the cheapest of all flagship devices. Why complain?
If I wanted to follow the rich and dumb fashion crowd then I would have bought an iPhone instead of an S5. In fact the S5 states the exact opposite of an iPhone.
Samsung should make a developer device, like a nexus. what happened to project silver?
goodbeye
Metal is the RIGHT choice. Problem for samsung is that the alpha brand is medium range phone, not top of line. If samsung release s6 with full metal is a good choice.
lol, 19 Jan 2015No glass please, it'll have self-cracking issues like all the Xperia Z models. Oh well, I drop... moreUnfortunately, it's a rare issue. S5 have self cracking screen as well but is it common? What a joke.
lg optimus g and twin brother nexus4 .
samsung going 2 year back??
well Samsung made it before the mighty "omnia 7" oled screen , metal unibody and removable battery i don't think it's so hard to put those standards together
The pebble design of galaxy s3 was awesome. A similar design with unibody aluminium alloy will look awesome and even keep it lightweight. Samsung is totally losing it sheen. A stock android is too much to ask at the same time.
What is this? LG Galaxy Xperia Mi Note Pro S6? Sounds like it.
Noo, glass panels on the back are history, except Sony. Why,oh why? Alpha phones are so pretty with their setups. Even a metal back would be better.
Shubham-Yadav, 19 Jan 2015What is the problem with plastic. Note 4 note 3 and alpha have good looking as well as removab... morePlastic isn't that bad! But we need something new from them.
AnonD-131177, 19 Jan 2015lg optimus g does have glass back tooAnd anyone who owned that or a nexus 4 will stay away from a glass back like the plague. IMO a nice feeling plastic is the best. Or Kevlar/glass fiber would be cool, something that doesn't get cold as hell when it's around 0C or colder and not slippery as an eel.
No glass please, it'll have self-cracking issues like all the Xperia Z models. Oh well, I dropped the S series since the S4, for Note anyway.
Glad to hear this. A metal unibody makes wireless changing impossible.
Shubham-Yadav, 19 Jan 2015Glass is the worst material for back, smudges, non removable vp all and cracking due to therma... moreWay wrong dude. Glass conducts heat better than plastic and I've never had a glass back phone that cracked even when gaming and charging the phone at the same time. The glass is treated to handle heat. Smudges will show up on smooth dark colored surfaces, no matter if it's glass or plastic. If you worry about smudges on the back just get a white phone, harder to spot the fingerprints.
lg optimus g does have glass back too
AnonD-77892, 19 Jan 2015Plastic??? Please! Not again...What is the problem with plastic. Note 4 note 3 and alpha have good looking as well as removable plastic covers.
