interesting....I wonder what operating system they're using? Windows or Symbian?
in a way this is their response to Apple, for getting into the cell phone business. So now they're taking the battle to them by making affordable netbooks which Apple have yet to have...

Anonymous, 25 Aug 2009do you know why does it cost that much ??? because its a SONY, not a cheap nokia plastic, anyw... moreOh I see, because of the fact that it's a SONY, that's why it's better than Nokia. Excuse us for not knowing the value of your company's products.

First of all, have you seen the Nokia 7500 Supernova, that phone is made out of machined aluminum, just like Apple, and your Sony.

Wait, I see where your going. Because you think that most Nokia phones are made from plastic, you assume that the Nokia Booklet will be made of plastic. FYI we're not talking about phones here. Netbooks right? Yeah I thought so.

But no, the value of a Sony product just makes it better right? Lol. No way I would pay $900-2000 for a netbook that can fit in my pocket. I've seen the P in person at the Sony Style store in NY. It's ridiculous screenwise. It relies on a mouse nub in the middle. It's ridiculous to right and left-click. But hey, it's small and light, so that automatically makes it awesome (......). And it has value, right? I might as well get a Macbook Pro. Or if I like the value of the Macbook Air, I might as well get that too, right?

      .....

With a 5hr battery life, mouse nub, sub-par screen, tacky placed left/right click buttons, you're not really paying for features. You're paying for the brand, the look, and the style. Which makes sense, right? Doesn't value trump features?

Especially since the Nokia Booklet is made of the same machine aluminum, 12hr battery life, HDMI port, better screen with HD display, Windows 7, 3 USB ports, and about the same weight as the P. I wonder if we'll be paying for just value with this booklet.

Oi, and regardless, Sony is certainly not a leader in netbooks, and neither is Nokia. Besides, saying that the P is definitely better than other netbooks because of value is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

You guys who are anti-Nokia, may I ask you a question:
Why bother us Nokia fans in this comments forum??
We already know that there are people who don't like Nokia. Ok, lots of people. There is no need to show your envy and jealousy here.. Go to your own phones forums and leave us in peace. Don't waste our time reading your hatred.
And to Nokia lovers: This mini-laptop is great, it might not be the greatest, yup, but it comes from Nokia, with its high quality manufacture. Let's wait and see the price. I personally will most likely get it!

I thought something fishy was going with Nokia and MS a few weeks back (think the mobile office nego). Anyway, looks like any other netbook around (though this time I see Windows 7 loaded on it). I already have a high end vaio that weighs 1.5kg, but having the booklet around could be a nice alternative away from work. Just wish netbook makers could move away from the aging Atom lineup and go with the VIA processors... Atoms are not really designed for anything except net browsing (and this thing is going to attempt HDMI...?)

                More detailed specs here:
                http://www.allaboutsymbian.com/news/item/10358_Nokia_Booklet_3G-netbook_with_.php

This is made out of a single piece of machined aluminum like macbook pros. The screen is also "glassed".

I think NOkia will get a lot praise for this netbook if the running time of 12hrs is true. Even if it can last 8+ hours with light work load such as office, wifi, and internet this is going to sell like hotcakes.

i donno got what so special about their laptop

i rather bought a Dell or Hp or Acer or Toshiba than spending a lot of money for it "Design"

be realistic, the design of the laptop can't improved the performances
