Anonymous, 25 Aug 2009do you know why does it cost that much ??? because its a SONY, not a cheap nokia plastic, anyw... morewhy i wan to waste my money on buying those expensive laptop???
for the metal body ?? for high-class aluminum and blur-blur , whatever it is.
so what??last year their laptop having BATTERY PROBLEM , battery melting with the laptop, HOW HIGH THE VALUE IS , until sony recall back the battery
only idio.t fans like u buy all the product of sony
interesting....I wonder what operating system they're using? Windows or Symbian?
in a way this is their response to Apple, for getting into the cell phone business. So now they're taking the battle to them by making affordable netbooks which Apple have yet to have...
Anonymous, 25 Aug 2009do you know why does it cost that much ??? because its a SONY, not a cheap nokia plastic, anyw... moreOh I see, because of the fact that it's a SONY, that's why it's better than Nokia. Excuse us for not knowing the value of your company's products.
First of all, have you seen the Nokia 7500 Supernova, that phone is made out of machined aluminum, just like Apple, and your Sony.
Wait, I see where your going. Because you think that most Nokia phones are made from plastic, you assume that the Nokia Booklet will be made of plastic. FYI we're not talking about phones here. Netbooks right? Yeah I thought so.
But no, the value of a Sony product just makes it better right? Lol. No way I would pay $900-2000 for a netbook that can fit in my pocket. I've seen the P in person at the Sony Style store in NY. It's ridiculous screenwise. It relies on a mouse nub in the middle. It's ridiculous to right and left-click. But hey, it's small and light, so that automatically makes it awesome (......). And it has value, right? I might as well get a Macbook Pro. Or if I like the value of the Macbook Air, I might as well get that too, right?
With a 5hr battery life, mouse nub, sub-par screen, tacky placed left/right click buttons, you're not really paying for features. You're paying for the brand, the look, and the style. Which makes sense, right? Doesn't value trump features?
Especially since the Nokia Booklet is made of the same machine aluminum, 12hr battery life, HDMI port, better screen with HD display, Windows 7, 3 USB ports, and about the same weight as the P. I wonder if we'll be paying for just value with this booklet.
Oi, and regardless, Sony is certainly not a leader in netbooks, and neither is Nokia. Besides, saying that the P is definitely better than other netbooks because of value is like bringing a knife to a gunfight.
You guys who are anti-Nokia, may I ask you a question:
Why bother us Nokia fans in this comments forum??
We already know that there are people who don't like Nokia. Ok, lots of people. There is no need to show your envy and jealousy here.. Go to your own phones forums and leave us in peace. Don't waste our time reading your hatred.
And to Nokia lovers: This mini-laptop is great, it might not be the greatest, yup, but it comes from Nokia, with its high quality manufacture. Let's wait and see the price. I personally will most likely get it!
I thought something fishy was going with Nokia and MS a few weeks back (think the mobile office nego). Anyway, looks like any other netbook around (though this time I see Windows 7 loaded on it). I already have a high end vaio that weighs 1.5kg, but having the booklet around could be a nice alternative away from work. Just wish netbook makers could move away from the aging Atom lineup and go with the VIA processors... Atoms are not really designed for anything except net browsing (and this thing is going to attempt HDMI...?)
Laser, 24 Aug 2009Nokia could'nt make a gud phone like iPhone, now wan't to be rival of MacBook AirJust wait the date & Nokia will kick iphone. Hope you not cry & shock if your super overpriced phone with cheaper features kick by cheap phone price with expensive features XD
Anonymous, 25 Aug 2009same hardware ,same OS, but sony can sales it at a very high price ,
i donno got what so spec... moredo you know why does it cost that much ??? because its a SONY, not a cheap nokia plastic, anyway you will never understand the value of a Sony product until you dont have one
More detailed specs here:
This is made out of a single piece of machined aluminum like macbook pros. The screen is also "glassed".
I think NOkia will get a lot praise for this netbook if the running time of 12hrs is true. Even if it can last 8+ hours with light work load such as office, wifi, and internet this is going to sell like hotcakes.
same hardware ,same OS, but sony can sales it at a very high price ,
i donno got what so special about their laptop
i rather bought a Dell or Hp or Acer or Toshiba than spending a lot of money for it "Design"
be realistic, the design of the laptop can't improved the performances
wtf? with those se fans ?
keep compare Nokia netbook with sony P??
i thought it is very expensive
and less n less people bought it
maybe i'm wrong?? got a bunch of stupid willing to spend their money on that thing which i think Asus EEE pc is better and cheaper
sorry se fans, SONY is not leading the netbook or laptop or mini laptop market
there is HP/DELL/ACER/ASUS
i love it
oho, 24 Aug 2009This one can't be compared with VAIO P, I think this falls in a different range. I think this ... moreif it is 10" than it has to be compared with Sony Vaio TT series and just compare them ??!! Sony Vaio TT would kill this amateur Nokia
oho, 24 Aug 2009Yes, but VAIO P falls in the 'netbook' range, this one falls in 'mini laptop' range.all I know is that Sony Vaio is the best choise. I will never change that brand
Laser, 24 Aug 2009Nokia could'nt make a gud phone like iPhone, now wan't to be rival of MacBook AirI'm sorry did you say that the Macbook Air has rivals? The only rivals to the Air are the people who don't want to waste their money on one of the stupidest laptops available.
If its Windows 7 onboard, i'll be one of the first in queue to buy this beauty (after dumping my 2 year old Dell)
Nokia always do lame thing.. bloody hardware, Useless software, dun't know when they goin 2 create a software for their hardware
Nokia could'nt make a gud phone like iPhone, now wan't to be rival of MacBook Air
It looks good and well made. and maybe its another area for Nokia as the phones
haven't been doing much for me lately.
Looks great! Can't wait to get Nokia booklet and N97 free with 2-year contract promotion!!!
