In Japan Apple fell in post iPhone release quarters from around 70% in 2013 to around 50% in 2014 - that's staggering 20%
In China Apple fell 1% from 18% to 17% market share in the same time period.
It's harder to find credible numbers for Korean market though.

Samsung has been trying to make the price gap closer to iPhone and that's not gonna work. If they sell their flagship phones like USD 150 - 200 lower than current prices, they may regain the market share.

A Camry can't never sell at a close price range to a Mercedez. Know where you stand.

No, I don't have an iPhone. My wife does.
I won't spend so much money over a phone even though it's not deep for my pocket.

If only Samsung changed their plastic design earlier and sell at lower price + no bloatware outta the box, I'd be happy to have one again.

It's only a matter of time before all major Android OEMs die and local cheap Asian brands dominate Android. There will be no more competition of Apple in the highend.

Samsung losing market share in China is understandable but in their home turf! Now that is something when your own countrymen don't buy your product. Nokia has same dilemma when people in Finland bought Samsung more instead of nokia. Nokia as we all know is kaput.
