If your ringtone volume is proper tham only thing which can cause issue like this would be the new settings of Lollipop where we can set priority of any caller as well time when you can be disturbed. Please check on sounds and notification to look for something which might have caused to change the settings or look for google but nothing to worry as this would be some settings issue only

i got the lollipop update for moto g 1st gen and ive not faced any sort of issues till now , its working quite fine. the only
disappointing thing was that the apptray icon is the same old jelly bean one.. n the apptray wasnt transparent so i installed the nova laucher ..! much better now ;)!!

wilson, 19 Feb 2015Same problem here too....cant set ringtone...is there any way to go back to kikat???? Just You have to download es file explorer file manger.And you have to copy the required ring tones from sd card.Then paste it in internal storage ring tone folder.And go settings>>Sounds & notification>>phone ring tones>>Select media storage(There is the displayed your pasted ring tones ).Just you have to tap on song & tap on ok.

Worst update. Calling a number has become a real pain. It takes 5 s to load recent call list. Overall performance severely degraded. Doesn't help even after cache wipe out.

Lollipop needs attention very Badly.. its color full as in "NaMMOOR Jaatre".better to be simple and with more standard themes.

Signal strength from cell tower is weak across android phones.. Thought Lolipop update would bring some relief. but no.. thinking to back to old age phone..
If i insert the same sim in basic phone.. call never drops and signal strength is better. Issue is with Android.. Google and Motorola has to fix issue ASAP. Else there will be cycle to go back to old age phones.

Facory Reset your phone your all trouble with lollipop version get solved
Go setting- Backup & restore -Factory data reset
After reset my trouble with lollipop like hanging, notification problem, call receiving, changing ringtone got solved
So factory reset your phone and enjoy lollipop

I got lollipop update for my moto g 1st generation. Intially i faced lots of problem like
1. Application was taking time open. Phone was become slow.
2. When call comes, notification was appearing from which I was unable to take call. For taking call I have to push power button and then accept call which requiring two or three time sliding. It was so irritating.
3. When I changed the ringtone of incoming calls, the changed ringtone was not ringing but some other some defualt ringtone was ringing. I was unable to change the ringtone
4. Launcher was not working right
But dear freinds when I reset my phone all above problems get solved, now my phone is working great with lollipop version.
So its my suggestion to reset your phone( Go Setting- Backup & reset- Factory data reset), your trouble regarding lollipop version get solved,
