Well I know a thing or two about photography, and...
1. Those are downsized so you really cannot tell anything about the noise level.
2. The candy pics are terribly out of focus, I guess they were shot below the minimum focus distance. So you can't tell anything about sharpness either (the ceiling shot was ok, but it doesn't have enough light).
3. If the aspect ratio and the number of pixels isn't as that of the Sony sensor, then it's not a Sony sensor (maybe it's not an HTC at all).

AnonD-120291, 23 Jan 2015do you consider this amazing improvement? are you coming from a feature phone to your first sm... moremaybe he take a photo at extremely low light condition and produces bright picture but poor detail,like asus did with their pixelmaster tech

This is a 16mpx camera and if its a imx220 like in the xperia phones this can mean one thing and i think its bigger pixels cus the 20.7mp camera on the z3 has 1.12 microns and this would be around 1.5 or 1.6 microns

I'm the number fan of ultra pixel. Look what 20mp looks like. I'll therefore keep my HTC m8 for the next coming 2 years. Nonetheless, HTC for life no matter what

This is a great improvement by HTC.do you consider this amazing improvement? are you coming from a feature phone to your first smartphone, these are either with a pre production camera or possibly not even from the HTC M9, in my eyes the quality is TERRIBLE, fairly good lighting and very poor detail, in my opinion of course, the ceiling shot is actually not bad considering it is a photo of light, it has kept the detail around the strip lighting pretty decently but the other 3 are very low quality
