when nokia bought the Symbian and open source it, it took a while, because some part of the symbian intelectual property is belong to some other company. And other's who use the SF^1 got stucked a little (SE Satio). Nokia 5800/N97 use the pre-SF^1 therefore it could be launched before SF^1 were in stable released.
When SE satio come out with SF^1, nokia will also launched new model with the SF^1. This model variant will be different (in term of look) with the 5800/5320/5530.

With the N97, Nokia has really upped their game drastically and the N900 should be more interesting. Can someone organise that we get the phone to be tested by the esoteric few?

tech, 28 Aug 2009still using resistive touchscreen?? OMG.. i'm not gonna buy thisLet me explain why alot companies use resistive screens. It's because you can use a pen. Everybody is not always in situtions where you are keen to touch screen with you fingers, wether it's oily from food, sweaty or just plain dirty from working. Iphone don't have that problem since most of their customers have pink bags and chihuahuas. Hard working people in labour and contruction that build our countries with their hands need phones they can use with dirty hands as well. Personally i prefer resistive, even though it's not properly working 100% with Symbian, it has huge possibillities with the Maemo.

Hello, i am what you call an iApple. When the next iPhone comes out i will be queuing outside a retail store with 12 year old girls, even though i am a grown man. When i go home i will download and pay for a Application on iTunes that make the phone screen look like a fake lighter, and it's much use to me. I love Apple and how they come with new designs and innovation every year for the iPhone. This year they put in a compass and a voice recorder, so i hope in the next iPhone there will be 2 compasses, one in white. And i would like to be able to check my incoming sms and mms if i'm in a call, thank you Steve. Sincerely Jamie iApple
