In the video the guys from nokia seems to use their fingernails when using the n900. Do you have to do that when the screen is resistive?

I have had my N82 for a year now waiting for my next phone to arrive. The N900 seems the be the phone. I should upgrade to but I’m worried. I don’t want to buy it then 3 months later nokia release another flagship with multitouch resistive screen or something like that. if this had a multitouch resistive screen, it will be the jesus phone

                          What should I do??????

It's still worth a lot... But when the N900 is officially released the price will plummet. You'll be surprised how many average Joe's will not know about the N900 for now.

i want this.. i wanna trade my n97 in for this.
Hands down, this is the sickest phone out right now. if mozilla, linux, carl ziess, and flash have be integraded into this phone, there is NO way this phone is gonna be bad.
I bow to nokia--if you were a person, i'd clap for you.

And if you don't know what I mean by my last point "looking like a pounce" just take a look at this video.

Anonymous, 31 Aug 2009Capacitive screens are tend to work flawless with the OS touch sensitivity. i don't know if it... moreCapacitive screens have many disadvantages over resistive. I have owned both iPhones and many resistive TS smartphones. Don't believe all the hype. I definitely prefer resistive over capacitive for the following reasons.

                                        - You can't use anything except your damn fingers (yeah with the exception of special stylus). No nails, no gloves, no "normal" stylus, nothing pointy etc. You also have to touch your screen at a specific angle because your nails get in the way sometimes etc. You have be conscious the way you touch the screen which you don't have to with resistive.

                                        - Much less accurate that's why the damn iPhone icons are so big, cumbersome and vulgar. Waste of screen estate in most apps. This already defeats many apps that can't be built for the iPhone. For example I can't imagine trying to work on a spreadsheet...

                                        - No feedback. With resistive it feels natural to press. With capacitive you don't get any feedback at all.

                                        - Easily have accidental touches which is really annoying. With resistive you can get away with the faintest of touches.

                                        - You feel really like a poof using the iPhone, a pinch here, a swipe here, a light touchy here... You get the point. It's like a pounce device.

Also many resistive screen are becoming very sensitive and almost the same level as capacitive but I'm not even sure I want them to be overly sensitive. Look at my negative point.
