I wonder how th... moreThe iphones are less powerful evey year than android phones years old. iPhone 6 is the first time apple fans haven't been greatly ripped off. I last owned an iPhone 4s and a HTC one s, which was half the price.bthe HTC one s peed all over the iPhone in every way, power, performance, camera and web browsing.
All the Samsung S phones are well over priced, but not compared to bloody apple phones and their pathetic screen sizes
Ryan, 10 Feb 2015Octacores aren't for performance, they're for better battery life! my galaxy tab s is no power... moreno hes trying to say octa core is crap in performance, its only for marketing. you say it saves power compared to quad core (for android), but quad core doesnt waste any battery, when its under light usage it underclocks itself. in fact any processor does than(not the super old ones of course)
Anonymous, 29 Jan 2015But most apps and games doesn't support multicore. So there is no benefit from 4 and 8 cores (... moreOctacores aren't for performance, they're for better battery life! my galaxy tab s is no powerhouse with an octacore processor, but it uses the lower powered quadcore processor when it's not under a strenuous workload, and uses the more powerful one when it is!:) so yes there definitely is a benefit to using an octacore processor. My s5 uses a 2.5ghz quadcore processor for everything and although its battery life is really good, it just doesn't compare to my Tab S! :)
Does any believe anything Samsung (or Google for that matter) claim any more? I wonder how these figures have been doped or how many minutes they can be sustained before clocking down.
Here's a figure I'm after. What percentage of Android fans realise the quick & dirty compilation on install shaves double-digit % off the real-world performance of the vast majority of Android apps. How many do we think?

The high-end mobile gaming requires single core performance. As most games, emulators are single threaded.
The amount of cores doesn't matter.
The single core performance is the most important. As most apps and games are single threaded.

Well, this is quite intersting to find out Samsung is really going through good stuff these days

The single core performances increased dramatically over 5433 and the Multicore performances are the best that we've seen ATM.
Yes Apple does design the A8 but Apple needs Samsung. They cannot find any other supplier that can manage the demand from Apple. I don't understand why you are claiming that Samsung can't make chips to A8's caliber looking at a 7420 benchmarks.

You dont seem to understand a simple fact, Samsung needs Apple, Apple on the otherhand can take their business anywhere because everyone operates on their terms.
Maybe you should keep your mouth closed and research before making your next comment because right now you just seem like the typical 5 year old samsung fanboy who doesnt know anything about the tech world.

John Smith123, 27 Jan 2015thats because the apple's chip is an Samsung fabricated design. It's inherently the same chip ... moreNegative, Apple DESIGNED the the A8. Samsung might have the manufacturing and fabrication capabilities, but it does not have the know how to manufacture a chip of the A8's caliber.
Basically, Apple tells them how to use their technology, better than Samsung can use it itself.

I don't see any difference between Android and IOS apps and Android apps actually gives me better experience.
