There's lots of things bundled with the phone tailored for the Indian market that's not in the specs, a two year subscription to 70 Indian live channels for example. So the real value of the phone is much more than whats on the paper. Imagine a Tizen Phone in the US for $100 plus a 2 year netflix subscription, a certain amount of free internet data per month, etc etc. You have to remember Play Store is not the only app store people use in many countries either.

samsung employee, 27 Jan 2015this is new OS and no 3rd party app development support. OS is also not rich as Android otherw... morewell as you said. Its a new OS. of course there arent much 3rd party developers on the platform. But Samsung made android popular so with some good phones at some good prices, the OS can be part of the Flagship line up. The only prob is that Google is not going to release its apps to Samsung's OS. That might be tough.

this is new OS and no 3rd party app development support. OS is also not rich as Android otherwise they would have used it in their flagship Devices (Galaxy and notes). Past few years they are trying to launch this OS phone but failed & finally they chosen India for it.

What if samsung gets a device at same price of xiaomi and same specs.. xiaomi sales will drop by 98% or more i think... if xiaomi raises price to samsung... again more than 98%... this hows that its just in luck... if samsung start pricing aggressively, xiaomi will die...
