Come on people! What is happening here?!! A war between Apple and Android?!!
Each ecosystem has its own advantages and disadvantages and its better not to compare one another as Apple devices and Android devices are two ends of a string.
Android devices are meant mostly for people who would like to have a more customized and open version of OS and who would want to own a device without spending a fortune when compared to Apple iPhones. Its the biggest mistake that people make when measuring an Android phone with customised UIs such as that of Samsung, LG, Sony etc in terms of performance, updates etc. The best of an Android device can be brought out only by the untouched version of stock android. Only a device with stock android can provide consistent and timely updates, performance and smoothness when compared to Apple devices.
Apple devices are always manufactured for people who don't care about customizations, open ecosystem or price tags. Whatever may be the price, Apple knows that its customers will definitely buy it because, its simply the wealthy or hardcore fans of Apple who are its customers. Its the wealthy part of people who currently own Android or other devices that Apple is looking forward in converting to its devices.
There isn't any need to make a Big fight about different smart phone companies and waste your precious time because at the end, all such companies exist only to make a huge profit and please its shareholders!! Neither Apple or Google is going to take care of you, be your life partner, pay your bills or tuition fees out of their hands etc. So, all my respected friends out there, enjoy your respective devices and enjoy your life!!

please people stop lying about your iphone. I have coworkers that have many bugs in iphone 6 and 6 plus. It seems like every day they have to reset their phone to send a text or to review a video or even communicate with their family members. They always ask me if I have the same problem. I have an HTC One m8 and had the m7. I cannot wait for the m9. Most of my coworkers are were jealous of my phone thinking it was a new iPhone prototype 2 years ago. I told them that apple envoys phones like this. I have played with your iphones and they are not as good as everyone says they are. Apple crashes just like every other computer or software. Plus all government agencies around the world will never use apple because of their buggy software and low security. Even our corporate supervisor is planning on moving over to google network because of the security and we work in the medical field.

I do know the difference as my mother only had iPhones (and an iPad) until a few weeks ago, when she got annoyed with the limitation (especially after watching us do a lot of things she couldn't do with her phone) and got a Galaxy Alpha.
I did try her iPhone out quite a lot.
My sister also has an iPad 3rd gen.
At home, my wife has an iPad, and I used it quite a bit before getting the Galaxy Tab S (very good tablet though I admit that it's sometimes a bit laggy, unlike My S5).
It seems that Apple users don't want to admit it, but iOS devices do lag and crash and bug sometimes too.
My mother, my sister and my wife's iPad all had those problems.
It's sometimes way too slow, or get stuck because the Cloud save message appeared and can't be removed (the button does nothing), you have to reset. Safari crashes constantly if you have too many tabs, Youtube is sometimes not loading the videos, you have to go back and relaunch a few times.
All these things never happen on my Android tablet and phone.
My colleague was complaining about the lag on his Galaxy S3, got an iPhone 5, and is now complaining about the lag with iOS 8 (which he showed me, as several apps consistently lag - for example Instagram when he tries to open his gallery, which doesn't happen on my S5).
So please remove those blinders.. the iPhones are good but far from perfect, flagship Android phones are now on par in the lag department even though they would have good reason to be behind (since Android is a lot more open).
Some of the problems I found on iOS would be no big deal on an open OS, but should never happen on such a closed system since they have a lot less variables to take into account.

Apple also have lower range phones. They use the old models for that, instead of to make new low range models. That gives them more profit, because they skip the expenses to develop new models.

You pay for the brand. That is the only reason why they are so expensive. Mr Iphone Fanboy.
Not material. Not the quality software. Not the specs. But that Apple logo.
I dont want to pay 600 euro's for mediocre specs that launches a new ios system every 3 months.

Even an android user who made a review about iPhone admits that the iPhone works great and admits that android laaggsss...
IPhone users buy the phone cause they get what they paid for...
Quality is one of the reason, aside from premium build the phone does its job that users are satisfied... The phone is consistent in every aspects...
