The new Nokia N1 tablet (android) is a new collaboration between Nokia and Foxconn....Nokia designs it, uses its tech, and Fox manufactures and sells it...rave reviews so far out of China.
Nokia is unable to go back into smartphones until 2016 according to its agreement with Msft...after that anything is possible
The drop in operating margin at Technologies is Nokia's spending money to build out it's IP monetization program (IP/brand/technology licensing program)
Just fyi, they've stated that the binding arbitration deal with Samsung (to determine how much more Samsung should pay to Nokia to license it's IP) will be concluded this year...we're looking at billions, just not sure the exact amount.
You might want to keep an eye on Nokia this year. The Apple IP license comes up for renewal in 2016 (recall that Nokia forced Apple to enter into a licensing agreement in 2011 after litigation), it did the same with HTC last year.
Even without the IP, Nokia is now pulling in 500m per quarter, 2B per year...it's becoming the new Qualcomm
any, 29 Jan 2015"all but dead", "anything but dead"... pretty much alive =)Wrong again, the use of "all but" in "all but dead" is an idiom and means "almost" dead or "nearly" dead. Please check online dictionaries. And then we close this chapter. Thanks.

They should just go back to making paper and rubber boots.
although I'm sure they'd try to find a way of cramming a 42MP camera into a ream of paper
Yo, 29 Jan 2015Wrong dude, "all but dead" means "nearly dead".Wrong, "all but dead" is that the person or thing may be whatever other than dead, and while that might include "nearly dead" (cause nearly dead is not dead), the idea of the concept is to distance that person or thing as much as possible from the dead state.
