Wow 1 billion Android phones is a LOT of phones!
But I'm curious how many of those are Google Android (with Google Services) and how many are AOSP Android (non-Google Android)?
According to the Wall Street Journal, non-Google Android was 37% of all Android shipped in 3rd Quarter of 2014 across the globe. That's almost 4 phones out of every 10 shipped worldwide.

Im using note 2 and 3 but I admit touchwiz have problems. I chose this merely for the screen size and stylus.

Apple's is down AGAIN. From 15.5% to under 15%
Not all sold iPhones are 6 or 6 Plus , so even high end Android phones are more that iPhone6/6 Plus

By better build quality you mean bendable with little amount of pressure? And better camera?? Lol How hilarious you Apple fanboys really are!! Note 4 is miles ahead of the 6+, it's in a class of it's own. The display is in a class of it's own with perfect black and highest absolute color accuracy, also bigger by 7% while the phone is only half mm of more width on each side! The 4K video recording is in a class if it's own, the active stylus and it's exclusive features is amazing, a class of it's own, the battery life for such a huge screened device with highest resolution display is in a class of it's own. And the VR capability of it is stunning and unbelievably smooth for a mobile device, the one and only with Oculus software and full support. It can send Bluetooth files to other phones and it has universal remote control capability. Everything is top notch, and it starts with 32 GB of internal storage ! Just wow. A normal person would definitely see that the iPhone 6+ has nothing on it. :)

In real world scenario, I watch video on my Note 4 and checking my chat at the same time, and the guy next to me with iPhone 6 Plus use it as...an e-Reader. That's what most of the them use it for.

Not doomsaying Android, but It means the premium market is dominated by iPhones now. And Android took the middle and lower end market.
But in the end Android will have more market share, as its cheaper with its entry level phones. And people who already own iPhones can easily get a few droid to test around.
But to drop like 5% is alarming... it means people realise entry/mid droid is bad performance.. and rather spend abit more to get iPhones.

Yeah, I am happy to pay $200 more for these things. And yes, I've had a number of Galaxies and none has been close to perfect experience for me, as the iPhone 6+ is.
It's like arguing that a Prada purse is not worth it, compared to an Ikea bag. To each their own.
