Kal, 03 Sep 2009Yah well that same "cheap" brand which in your word releasing "ugly-looking design" is making ... moreYou actually took up the one issue that is the main reason for SE not selling well, and then trashinh Nokia with it, how ironic is that? It's ok to be a fan of something and talk well about, like we all do, but straight out lying just to win a silly argument is not ok.
The metallic build quality in even the cheapest E-series is far better then the best most expensive SE phones, Nokia even got heaps of awards for the build quality on the E-series.
I am a Swede living in Sweden and know all about SE build quality and how the SE owners i've seen have to send their phones to the repair shop 2-3 times. I have seen for years how the buttons on slide out SE devices crack up and break after a few days of use, how the OS freezes and restart the phone on a daily basis and how the paintjob starts falling of after the first few weeks.
Even the Nokia plastic phones like the N-series might not be the best quality with sqeeky battery covers, but Nokia is not even near as bad like SE phone in build quality, and the funny thing is that know it, but you just have to win the argument for the sake of it.
Anonymous, 03 Sep 2009speaking of operating system for mobile phones, this is the data from 2008:
The most popula... moreJust because the mass has more GM cars (e.g. Chevy, Pontiac, Buick, Saturn, and etc...) than certain brands (e.g. Mercedes Benz) doesn't mean that GM is better than others.
Just stay with Symbiam OS, and be happy with it.
I could also tell you the majority of the mobile phone users simply use regular mobile phone with keypad #. Maybe you should stick with one of those simple flip phone as well.
Just because the PS3 isn't doing well against the Wii or XBox 360, or that the PSP isn't as popular as the DS Lite or DSi, doesn't mean that this X2 is a bad phone.
Some of you are simply "dumb".
I am no Nokia fan, but I ain't no Nokia hater either. Nokia is well known for its efficiency of energy consumption and phone stability. Nokia is good for simpleton.
I got the N97 in July, and it is ready to hit to the garbage can. Processor speed sucks, and Symbiam OS cannot be compared to WM. That darn thing (N97)cannot even play RMVB correctly, and neither avi file straight out of the box without having to do any resolution conversion. Simply put, it sucks big @ss time.
I also have Samsung i900. I had an i780. I also had several HTC PDA phones, and Motorola.
Okay, what I am saying is that a good phone doesn't necessarily mean which brand you have. Of course, you still have to rely on certain well-known brand to get good quality phone. A good phone just mean that it is a best buy.
In the WM world, this X2 is certainly the best buy of the year 2009. And to those that are still having Nokia sh*tty conversation against this phone is simply dumb@ss since Nokia has no WM phone.
speaking of operating system for mobile phones, this is the data from 2008:
The most popular mobile operating systems
- Symbian (Epoc) = 52.4% market share
- RIM = 16.6% market share
- Windows Mobile = 11.8% market share
- Mac OS X = 8.1% market share
- Linux = 8.1% market share
IMO, of all the Operating Systems mentioned above, Symbian is probably the most mature one, since it was designed with phones in mind from the ground up.
Windows Mobile has been around a little bit longer, but it took a while to transform from being PDA-centric OS to smartphones OS.
For sheer speed vs CPU speed and power consumption, today's WinMo OS can't match Symbian OS.
Anonymous, 03 Sep 2009Hey you forgot Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sony Music Entertainment. How 'bout that? Come on.... moreYeah, to all Sony haters, we listen to you my friend. Leave your angry right here.
[deleted post]Yah well that same "cheap" brand which in your word releasing "ugly-looking design" is making profits each quarter whereas others are losing. Isn't it amazing that people are even buying those "ugly-looking" phones? For your info they offer it in much lower price because unlike others they make most of their stuff. Others could sale it cheaper too, but they keep their profit margin higher. Now they are finding it hard. We the end users are actually getting benefited from that.
And by the way it's well understood in mobile phone circle that Nokia with it's CHEAP GLOSSY PLASTIC looks rather cheap than anything else.

Anonymous, 03 Sep 2009Ericsson does nothing, the whole phones are made by Sony and thats why I like this brand, beca... moreU r still dreaming in ur own world. SONY is out of this competition already, their financial is getting worse, facing bankruptcy now. Their electronic products is beat by Samsung, their laptop quality is not as good as Macbook, sales is less than HP, DELL & Acer. Their game console sales like PS3 is beaten by Wii & Xbox360, their PSP is lose to Nintendo DS & iPhone & iPod Touch. Even their 'mobile phone' market share is in the last amongst the Top 5 manufacturer. So continue ur dream in hell. LOL...
And by "dumb" I didn't mean everyone who is buying a Nokia is a dumb. Anybody who goes for a particular brand or model without knowing it's full potentials, features or without doing any comparison with other manufacturers and buys it simply because they have heard about it from their friends or colleagues are "dumb" to me.
My understanding is Nokia cashed on those dumbs more than anyone else.
[deleted post]Maybe that's why SE biggest media flagship ever, The Satio is using Symbian? Maybe it's because SE is dumb then, right?
[deleted post]I would agree with you on this. Right now I'm living in a country where I can see plenty of those d*mb people around. It's like If I use my Samsung, someone will ask which Nokia model is that. They would go to a store a buy a Nokia without getting to know what others are there to offer. But lately I see some awareness. Now people came to realize that other manufacturers are offering more in that price range. The result is, I can see more Samsung these days. Now they say they didn't know that they could get better screen, better sound and better looking phones in same or less money. Things are changing and it's reflecting in Nokia's market share each quarter.
David, 03 Sep 2009So basically you are saying that people that buy Nokia are dumb? Well then i guess that makes ... moreNice Post. Hope they shut up after known the true. Nokia Rule & SE ending like Symbian UIQ.
[deleted post]No, these facts where Times Magazine and Businessweek. But i guess you don't know about this stuff unless it's written in a Comic Magazine. Nokia is the world biggest supplier of GPS and Pinpointing through their Satellites for public and military use, and years ahead of SE. So accoring to you, everyone in your country that uses Nokia are dumb and don't know better cause they are used to something? Well than that should make you the smartets guy in you country, yet you still probably work at Burger King, don't know simple maths. What does that say about you? You live in the dumb country where you are the smartest and you are still not the President, but a just noob trying to play smart and touch on online mobile forums by insulting your own people.
I love Sony's products. I love walkman than ipod because the sound quality, I love PS than Xbox because the game quality. I love Vaio notebook rather than mac because the style. I just love sony handycam more than other brand because the video quality. I love sony cyber shot digital camera because the superb pictures taken. And I love Sony Ericsson phone because it has perfect combination between design and technology..
Why all of you comparing nokia to the lousy SE..
SE phones have similar design, almost the same only the specs are a bit different.. unlike Nokia, they always include what the people need..
