Ram Parab, 06 Feb 2015I was eagerly waiting for the new design from hTC for its new flagship M9.... but I am highly ... moreHow is your m8 better designed? The m9 moved the power button to a better placement on the side, that way it's not so hard to reach. The m9 looks quite a bit thinner than the m8. The bezel size has been shrank substantially and most of all that "htc" black bar is almost completely vanished.... So is your m8 better because you can't afford to get the m9 or what?

Nothing new or innovative from HTC.
Unless they can design dual-screen Smart Device!

The square cutout is definitely for the proximity & ambient light sensor combo... who would take a selfie with the Dot View case anyway? Perhaps though, the blank space by the camera is used for a notification LED and proximity sensor instead(since the front is all glass, and the ambient light sensor I mentioned in the beginning can be hid in the place where the square cutout in the Dot View case is). This makes sense because the proximity sensor has to be covered by the Dot View case for it to be activated at all.

AnonD-163230, 05 Feb 2015if htc want to put a slogan it'll be "our creativity is same shit" The same with Apple too, don't you think? Amd creativity is shit is what you should've say to Samsung instead. But, if it ain't broke...

looking at the render image, it seems the bezels are gonna be so thin! this (or maybe the m9 plus - if it doesn't have that hideous samsung like button) is definitely my next phone!

That is a gorgeous device and a beast too. My M8 is becoming an M9 100%.

HTC One always been a sexy phone, but I rather go with LG G4 it seem they are very similar design. If HTC still stuck with no removable battery and no sd expasion is gameover. They need to realize they not apple.

Yes, but if you take into consideration the phone case that is currently advertised on Amazon for the HTC One M9 that is scheduled to be released February 9th or so,the case is designed with a square cutout to accommodate the M9's rear facing camera lens. Having said that, I tend to agree with some of the posters. I really prefer the round camera lens instead of the square, but if it works, then I guess it really doesn't matter. It is simply a matter of esthetics. I just happen to think the round camera lens is more esthetically pleasing than the square lens. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

The square camera design looks absolutely hideous. I hope its not square and they keep the circle design of the m8.

The front looks absolutely GORGEOUS though and I really hope theirs no Samsung like button on it too.

Please HTC Work on one size phone. And if you do decide to make a 2 sized phones, please don't make the bigger phone with superior specs. I want a 5.0 - 5.2 phone with great specs.

the cut out is most likely for the proximity sensor because no one is going to take a selfie with the case close, so there is no need for a cut-out for the front camera.
and as for the back camera..... circle, square, what the big deal the phone is rectangular. picture quality is what is important. y

The cutout at the top is for the proximity sensor rather than the camera surely?

AnonD-200152, 05 Feb 2015That render looks fake to be honest. it is. This is by hamdir from XDA. And it's just what he thinks it will look like. Though he is confident it'll look like this. You can see that the back is pretty much the M8's but with the square camera that was leaked.

that render isn't of the real thing, it was made by hamdir from the XDA forums based on whatever information he had at the time. Look at the water marks. The image was in essence stolen and reposted.
