#7, 07 Feb 2015This is like Aston Villa claiming they *might* catch up with Manchester City, and just as like... moreBefore Arab money it was possible, but now Motorola have Chinese money/Mangement so its very much imaginable for Motorola to catch Samsung

Irony is - Motorola lost their top position years ago (late 80's-early 90's) to Nokia during the AMPs and early GSM days.

COO doesn't know what he is talking about. Samsung, the Group, is owned by chaebol and they will not allow that to happen. They will do ANYTHING to maintain their position and their status quo is nothing like Blackberry and Nokia.

That COO is way off. Wanna bet? Let's wait 2~3 years and talk.

Samsung are the only ones who really challenge Apple,o.k the Critics have finally got to the Quality of Samsung phones, but now better materials will be used by Samsung, people will change there reaction when we see the Galaxy S6 from Samsung,Motorola went Very Quite for Ages and need some investment to keep them going, they might be good with Budget phones, but nothing in the Premium section to challenge Apple

Samsung can continue giving s4 at discounted prices... better with a toned down touchwiz.... And give lollipop for S3 neo duos for current pricing.. It will beat other phones to hell.... But launching degraded phones considering users to be stupid will cause samsung's downfall for sure....

Impartial imput here: With innovation, Moto could pull this off, HOWEVER, Lenovo have a serious reliability issue with their laptops (this is well documented), and let's just hope they do not degrade Motorola's reputation by turning out shoddy goods. Chinese QA is such: We'll make 100. 10 will fail and be returned, but we'll still make a profit on the 90, so all's good. Please see reviews of Lenovo Yoga laptops on John Lewis and other UK websites. I bought a Yoga 2 for £1200, it was dead in the box, this is not uncommon.

As for Samsung, my Note 4 says they are not going anywhere soon. Superb phone. There is room for Samsung, LG, Moto, Apple, OnePlus (cult) and RELIABLE Chinese mass market brands.

People forget, Samsung and LG are in a superb position, in particular, Samsung, because they make their own components, so can be pretty innovative and control their supply chain.

I am sure Alby1 knows more than the people who run the conglomerate. I bet half of people here don't even know that won was strongest against USD in 2014 if you look across last 5 years. That would have lost more than 5% just on basis of currency conversion.
