Unfortunately, my S4 I9500 lags terribly after the Lollipop update. Sometimes, after exiting an app, the app drawer shows a blank and takes some time before the apps are visible. The notification window, despite only having a couple or so, lags as it comes down the screen, not at all fluid and responsive. The UI looks as if a child drew it. The performance gap to cheaper and mid-range phones is quite appalling. I wonder whether they tested it thoroughly, before releasing.

is the black edition going to get a special update of lollipop with the black wallpapers and stuff?
if not, then there wont be any difference between the normal s4 and the black edition besides the external appearance, which is stupid.
hopefully samsung comes up with a good update for the black edition s4.
BTW, i still havent gotten the update to lollipop, neither from Kies nor an OTA.

got updated my black edition from service center.
it working smoothly . and about battery it is working same as before; it is regular s4 update not black edition one.
all black wallpapers gone...LED Indicators not working.
otherwise performance is very good.
hope next update will fix these bugs..

i have flashed my mobile having NA4 baseband black edition s4 ins model....its working fabulous... bo lag...it has boost up my phone... battery is same as previous to the update...apart from it i did a hard reset...so i dnt noe about problems if any occurs without the hardreset.... so guyzzz just flash n njoy... it ll work fine

It will show if it is ins or inu model..
And black edition is YDD..
Which is different from ODD and DDU.. which can be found in ins abd inu models.
Black edition runs on different csc..
That's why it didn't update

i think s4 deep black will never get lollipop update this is the last update for galaxy s4.kitkat is last update for galaxy s4 mini and galaxy s4 mini deep black won't get it
