please be aware that most people just start the camera and shoot. they don't care about settings... therefore an auto setting is very important. it has to take good pictures in every situation. if i think of the S5 with it's camera module, i am astonished it's so bad in auto-mode. when tweaking the settings, you get very good results. I am very interested in the new API of the camera and obviously googles android 5 API 2.0 for the camera. with long exposure, RAW etc. if people intend to use the camera for more than just instagram, then this option is absolutely necessary. why having a 20mpx module anyway...

With Samsung leading NX-1 pro level mirrorless DSLM (Digital Suingle Lens Mirrorless) camera and their very own larger BSI CMOS sensor in the world development, I am very confident Samsung will be the No.1 leader in smartphones cameras.

Nope, Sony doesn't come close, they are more likely heading the end of their smartphones road.

In case you don't know, Slow-Mo video was just a gimmick. It was for phone maker who couldn't make better MP camera to continue to fool it users.

I think that they should add a 2-3x optical zoom mechanism into this if it's possible and eliminate the digital zoom.

AnonD-5666, 11 Feb 2015From the camera sensor model, we can say that front camera sensor size increased. SLSI_S5K... moreSelfie freaks had much better options out there, even the HTC M8 is using a 5 megapixel module made by Samsung.

Camera is not judge by specs but it depends much on image processing and software

Fix their slow motion video please omg. Their 120fps slow motion video is so pixelated it looks more like 360p than 720p

I believe that the rear main camera has a 1/2.3-inch sensor.

I am making a few assumptions here, but I believe that the main rear camera is a 1/2.3 inch sensor. Samsung loves a pixel pitch (pixel size) of 1.12nm. Considering this we see that the sensor is a 16:9 aspect ratio from the image resolutions.

So to maintain a pixel size of 1.12 and also have resolution of 5952×3348, the sensor should be around 3.77mm x 6.71mm. This will have a diagonal of 7.70mm. This means this is a 16:9 aspect ratio 1/2.3-inch sensor. For comparison, iPhones have 1/3 inch sensor, Note 4 have 1/2.6-inch sensor.

From the camera sensor model, we can say that front camera sensor size increased.

SLSI_S5K4E6_FIMC_IS (consider the part S5K4E6). SLSI stands for Samsung LSI. Important part is the 'K4'. Normally that defines the sensor size class, here is probably means 1/4-inch sensor. Previous Samsung models had 1/6 or 1/8 inch sensor.

So for all those selfie freaks, enjoy.. Your selfies will be much better!!

Nobody cares unless it takes good pictures. The note 4 is excellent. Low light isn't bad but definitely could use improvement still.
