Hello everyone! I flashed the official polish lollipop version today! So far everything is nice and smooth. I like the new version! =) Thanks to BinaHejazi and nazrae1 for useful comments!
note 3 , 15 Feb 2015What about battery life?Hi,
I must say personally have not found a huge difference in battery consumption and more/less as before. I am still trying to clean up a number of apps and caches and minimise occasionally used apps. Most people have reported improvement in battery life though.
Hope that helps.
Bina
I got my phone from dubai
Note 3 n9005 32gb
No update yet for my phone
Any1 with the same ?
when will be in malaysia
So what should i do ? My country has it on Vodafone only available for OTA. Would i just need to have a vodafone sim in my phone or do i have to have a contracted phone from them to make the OTA update?
If i would flash the Polish version , will i receive OTA future updates from samsung directly? Or i will have to flash those aswell?
Thanks.
I flashed the poland version too and its awesome, its like i bought a new phone.

I did, following your note, flash my Note3 with the same FW and upon completion just allowed the normal reboot which was a bit scary as it appeared to have gone in to a loop since the newly designed Samsumg Logo with sparks around just stayed on the screen for about 15 minutes. I then pressed the home button and only then it was revealed that it was optimizing the apps underneath.. 132 out of 322 (yeah I have a plethora of apps on the phone).
you are spot on about the Google Play services but I just followed the Update prompt and went on updating the Google Play Services to the V6.5.99 (1642632-438). I have downloaded your recommended version from "Apkmirror" but I am still a bit hesitant to install as it seamless currently and I can't see any obvious reason to install it. what do you say? should I update it anyway?
I must say the initial boot after the FW lash took a good 20 minutes or so before the phone became fully functional.
everything else is just a breeze and flawless. I am going through various parts the phone with your guide as well as finding things or myself about all sorts of changes and behaviours etc.
Like yourself I will continue to enjoy a much better phone until I am fed up with it by which time I am sure the Note5 will have long been on the shelf!
I suppose the verdict to all those who are thinking whether or not to install the Poland FW is a resounding YES. It will turn your Note3 to an almost beyond recognition new phone with (almost) everything we saw on Note4 and wished to have added as new functionalities such as the camera, multi windows, S Pen etc.
Many thanks again mate,
Bina
I have N900L korean lgu model... no update ...???!!! Korean update is late in this day's...may be they r looking for stable 1.....
After installing Lollipop update on my note 3 (Germany-Vodafone), the ambient light sensor stopped working!! Has anyone any solutions/experienced the same issue?
I'm using a Note 3 SM-N9005 32GB LTE International version (XME) and I'm from Malaysia. I recently flashed to Poland (XEO) N9005XXUGBOA5 firmware. So far, the firmware is very stable but you have to update the Google Play Services manually or you'll encounter error messages. After updating the Google Play Services to version v6.7.74 (1723905-438) from APK Mirror which means the Note 3 no longer use version (xxxxxxx-038) as '4' is already meant for use with Android 5.0 Lollipop. Do check carefully before downloading or installing. After installing, everything is a breeze.
What I did was after flashing, I reboot to Recovery and Clear the Cache Partition then Delete Data and Reset. Then I reboot my device and start on a clean slate, with no previous apps installed and start using the device as if it were a new one. This helps a lot on getting the device refreshed, in my opinion la.
However, my personal concern about Lollipop is that, it doesn't have the built-in Call Blocking feature as what they have in Kitkat. The trick is, you have to configure your ‘Favorite’ contacts in the Phonebook then configure the ‘Allowed contacts’ list (button ‘All’) which will change when you press it (All, Priority and None). Priority setting will only give audio notification of the selected options and silent for unknown or Contacts which are not in the ‘Favorite’ list or not included in the ‘Allowed contacts’ list. Option available for selections are from Event and reminders, incoming calls and messages, sounds confusing? I was, but I got the hang of it in few minutes.
Battery, so far so good but if you're looking for battery duration (Time of Battery used), don't bother as it is not there anymore. It only has the Time of Last Charge and Time Left on Battery in am/ pm format. Yes, we have to calculate how many hours the battery was used.
An updated Air Command, Memo is now integrated with S Note, few changes in Scrap Book feature, Calendar is given Material Design and most of the features are working flawlessly. WiFi issues, none. 4G now shows LTE and a lot more.
GUI, no complaints. Just have to get used to of the vibrant colors of each system apps opened. The card like Task Manager is superb and fluid. Transitions from one desktop to another were fluid which is not bad for the final build of Lollipop.
As for me, I’m glad that I flashed it which gives me time to get myself familiar with the operating system and hopefully, use it thoroughly as my Note 3 has been given a new lease of life until I can get my hands on a Note 5 :p
I guess I updated to the official one too soon....Vodafone UK version... Ota update... Its laggy and touchwiz keeps shutting down if you try moving icons or drop widgets... Darn... :(
