Bcause u... moreSmaller, but no, it will retain the same 5.1" display as its predecessor, according to the dimensions several case makers have been given and evleaks. Personally speaking, I would've liked a 5.2" display for the HTC One M9, but 5 inches is satisfactory.
Oh HTC, the design of this phone looks amazing and easily the best looking phone so far IMO, but you've not gone with an OLED screen again thus you've lost me as a potential owner, it's so disappointing :(
I am really in to the VR stuff (Google Cardboard), for this you really need better than 1080p and an OLED screen, if there are no surprises then it looks like my next phone is the Samsung Galaxy S6 - Even if I have to suffer Touchwiz.
Good device, but you can't deny that after a whole year, other companies can finally rival Sony's Z series specs (20 mp camera and 3 gb RAM).
No big surprises really.
I think HTC would be wise to stick at a 1080p/5 inch screen combo (2k is just going to tax the CPU/GPU and battery unnecessarily)
Throw Optical image stabilisation into the main camera, put the 4mp ultrapixel up front (what it arguably should have been used for in the first place) and I think HTC will have a strong contender here.

actually the face of this phone is breath taking... this is my new phone ... hopefully if those pics are true .... i can't see anything comparable to the beauty of this phone... and now with descent camera... Glad i skipped M8 and waited for this years flagship.
A gloriously well designed device that no one can deny!
If Samsung lose the removable battery option with their S6 - HTC will stand to gain some serous ground with this. It's looks great imo. :)
Roboticengi, 13 Feb 2015Wauw you havent seen any of them yet and you already know which one to get....amazing.If the rumors are to be believed, of course. I'm not 100% certain, but as of now, due to what's been leaked thus far, I'm leaning towards the M9.
How come "beirut" is on the weather widget?
Anonymous, 13 Feb 2015Battery capacity still not reach 3000mahIt doesn't need to, the SD810 is manufactured on a 20nm node, so its battery life should be comparable to that of devices with a 3,000mAh+ battery using last year's SoCs (since, naturally, smaller die sizes = less power consumption).
AnonD-354781, 13 Feb 2015Actually, I debated long and hard over whether to get the S6 over the HTC One M9, and for me, ... moreWauw you havent seen any of them yet and you already know which one to get....amazing.
Kevin, 13 Feb 2015Unbelievable design upgrade from last year!
With these slim bezels I would have liked a 5.2... moreSame design as previous two generations. The only difference isthe removal of the from speakers.
AnonD-274519, 13 Feb 2015Well, M8's camera really is a disaster and doesn't belong in a flagship-device. In a midranger... moreIt's perfect for a front-facing camera. It's better than anything you find in other devices, including the iPhone 6.
Is that a new version of Sense? Did they remove the tiles on this version?
Still having a poor battery capacity...
Kevin, 13 Feb 2015Unbelievable design upgrade from last year! With these slim bezels I would have liked a 5.2... moreMost people would prefer to have a 5" display. When it was purported that the S6 would employ a 5" display and be smaller than its predecessor, the rejoice was almost unanimous.
