VCRule, 19 Feb 2015HTC One m9: 58259. I must not that when it had been use for a while and the phone got hot it... moreIf that were true, wouldn't the results be posted to Geekbench's website? Doesn't Geekbench automatically posts the results to the website?

The A57 cores are much SMALLER and much more FRUGAL than Cyclone or Denver core.

Cyclone and Denver are simply bigger, beefier and wider, which means better single core performance but also it means they can't be used in larger number setup because they're TOO BIG and use TOO MUCH power.

You're saying "Oh my two sled raindeer are soo much better than your eight sled dogs", which is a complete nonsense.

A deer is stronger, but dog can come in bigger numbers.

And in performance per watt, the A57 is actually superior to both Cyclone and Denver.

If Apple put four cyclones in iPhone, they would fry up the thing.

                              2)Performance per watt?
                              Let's start.
                              7420 has 4 A57 powerful cores + 4 efficient A53 cores.
In Hard tasks will run both.

So how you think, 8 cores will compare less than 2 ?

And of course, use multiple cores was invented for better thermal managing, not for a efficiency.

You can't find "power efficient" cores in PC.
Because PC CPU can operate from 100 MHz till his maximum clock (Depends on configuration). so theres no need of having "power efficient" cores. as Core can be powerful and efficient too.

But in mobile that's difficult to do. and ARM hasn't invented yet such core architecture. And as far most mobile CPU OEMs just copy-paste them, i don't think it will be in near future.

gg, 18 Feb 2015source?Technically it could, the i5 mobile processor is dual core while this is 8 core. but the single core performance of the i5 will be alot higher then the ARM processor.

Adding cores means upping the TDP and footprint (size) of the SoC. That's not an option within the design contraints at hand here. Which is why the Exynos gets so much praise.

It's not about the amount of cores, it's about what you can achieve in terms of performance per watt of power use.
