Anonymous, 15 Sep 2009so.. why E55 not release in Indonesia?? i want that Smartphone to replace Sony Ericsson M600i.Maybe Not high end enough? We, Indonesian*, mostly thirst for Communicator device, or communicator-like device (e.g. High end, expensive).
*Nokia communicator is the ultimate business device in here.
most government official use it.
bank manager, hotel manager, restaurant manager
chief police, celebrity, etc
So, E55 might not cut it. It need to be communicator or some E7x hot shot.
Win7RTM, 14 Sep 2009I HIGHLY doubt that. And you can clearly see in this thread that no one even CARES that it's p... moreApart from several people on this thread who apparently do think that the phone is more desirable because it's painted gold....
I ask again, why would anyone pay thousands of dollars to get a completely normal phone that is painted gold. It's just a phone and you will probably be able to get it for free in three months time. But then again, maybe this is a symptom of the loony consumer driven excess that has driven the western economy to it's knees.
so.. why E55 not release in Indonesia?? i want that Smartphone to replace Sony Ericsson M600i.

1. Indonesia is the 4th most populous country with 120Million+ cellular subscriber. Only 10% of Indonesian own 1 number (1 cellular provider), the other 90% own multiple number (not necessarily multiple phone).
2. Indonesian enthusiasm in Communicator and E-series make several of the elites in Indonesia to become very proud if they can win a bid in E series auction. Thus, it is very reasonable to auction E series in Indonesia.
3. We were willing to pay more to say "I'm first".

BB is not on the same level as Nokia. BB could be successfull in USA because CDMA SMS were not as mature as GSM SMS/MMS. But in the country that GSM is better than CDMA BB really strugling. For your information, according to wikipedia ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBerry ). BB only have 28.5 million user on May 30th, 2008. And Nokia SOLD almost 100 million E series & N series on year 2008 alone. If you count year 2007, 2006, 2005.... + the do-re-mi-fa (4 digit nokia model), you know that BB is not a match for nokia at all.
So the E72 is not nokia answer to any BB product. Since all the BB product sold in Indonesia + iphone still lose to a single model of Nokia E71. E72 is a product from nokia that would make BB would fell the pain in the a**.
I think the dude up in the line has absolutely no idea about the Indian market for phones......!!! If Indonesians change phones twice in a year........I really can't estimate the number of times Indians change their phones....! Like me.....!!! That actually brings me to the next point. Why in the world would Nokia want to release it first in Indonesia...??? Especially when other markets have proved itself stronger....!!
cool man....our country is still the first country to be choosen as the places to launch the Nokai E72....but you guys can't obey the fact that Indonesia (capital city is Jakarta) has tons of opprtunity for mobile phone sales because of our population (alhtough we are smaller than India or China), but we have a certain condition where you can't find it in China or India, Indonesian people buy phones for show off, usually people changed their phone twice in a year. so, Indonesia is a very huge market. after Nokia 9500, again we are the first place for release this E72.
If you guys don't know Jakarta or Indonesia, maybe you guys know Bali island ? i think this Bali island is quite famous for European (not American anyway)....
To start with i jssssssssssttttt love gsmarena. One og the first sites i open everyday in my office. Great and detailed content. Kudos....

nokia's only hope is to target 3rd world countries, with market share falling all across the board

Jakarta is the capital of our beloved country of Indonesia--those where Bali belongs too eh.. ^^
Btw love the optical trackpad, it's now (hopefully)not annoying anymore to browse the netpage despite non-touchscreen feature in this E72, and hopefully the camera great as well.. :)
