Having come from a Samsung S4 Mini (which was a lovely device), the Z3C is superb with astronomical battery life. I am now getting 4 days between charges whereas it was 2 days S4 Mini (still quite good). Shame you can't change the battery. Screen brilliant and 720p is superb ( I can't see the dots with close-up glasses) so doesn't need 1080p. I, for one, would be very sad if they left the market. They do need to rationalize and start advertising their products more!

Surely news like this from Sony will have a seriously negative effect on the sales of its upcoming high-end smartphone? Sony led themselves into a design dead-end with their insistence on water and dust proofing, in my opinion, leading to phones with no appeal from the design perspective. Also, the compact class should have had a processor downgrade to make them more affordable.

Instead of exiting from smartphone business Sony should focus on more affordable phones. Their phones are too expensive even the mid-range phones are mpre expensive than Samsung mid-ranges with exactly same specs. For example Xperia M2 costs 20-30% more than Galaxy Grand 2.

Samsung should sticks with their Note series, S series & Tizen series, Sony with their Z series (include compact Z & Ultra Z), let those China & Taiwanese & Indian manufacturer fight out in low end & midrange market, after all is about profit & not total ship out units, look at how Apple able to stays in top with mere 2~3 models a year.

Sony must release only 2-3 phones per year. A normal sized, a compact sized and a phablet phone. Stick to a month from 12 months for the release cycle to go for every year like Apple. All the devices should be premium and do not release any cheap phone coz there is Samsung and other shitty brands who do it. Stick to the plan Sony. I have faith in u. We all have faith in u. Dont wanna lose my only mobile brand since childhood.

A... moreErr.... another korean company which gave samsung a run for their money when it comes to price to specs to quality ratio would've continued pissing them off if only they went global immediately.
Also, it is a different world in Japan, where smartphone sales are starting to slow down since most of them still work even if they were old models.

It's funny to read comments like, "Sony devices are better than all others."
If that were true, this discussion wouldn't exist. So, feel free to fabricate any remarkable, Sony story you'd like about its smartphones, but just know that this article is more than enough proof to strongly suggest otherwise.
The truth is that Sony should have long since thrown in the towel. This is way overdue.

The rest are just passersby, gamblers. Since the aforementioned are completely in their own worlds, those of us who know this stopped making noise in these forums quite a long time ago. What we do instead is sit down, wait for the next flagship, buy and get a life.
