It's a shame. They make by far the best Android devices on the market. Nothing else is really even in the same league. The new HTC One might be, but that's literally it.

That would be quite sad.
Maybe they should not worry too much about market share, and leverage on their good brand.
Produce a smaller line of phones, with great features, and some tech that they have a market advantage in, good camera, Playstation connectivity, (why is there no PS4 style controller adapter for their phones) etc.

Their omni balance design usually calls for a love it or hate it response with no middle ground and they took a big gamble using it across their entire mobile line up.

No! They started making such a good come back with the Z line! Especially after the Z2. They are my next favorite top devices.
They are basically the only ones that challenge the Galaxy on an objective level!

For manufacturers, it's very competitive. More over with the growing chinese market offering flagship devices at a mid ranger price tags. I think if Sony is looking to profit growth, exiting the smartphone market and focusing on it's already successful imaging sensor market would proof to be a logical move.

[deleted post]Long live? Really? I don't even see HTCs on the shelves of most gadget stores in malls. I don't hate HTC, but just like Sony, there is still a lot of work to do. So still not "long live" for HTC, because they're still in critical situation.

In the years that they are being criticized of their screens having poor viewing angles/not using an IPS panel/now is the inaccurate colors - it seems like there really is a lack of effort to provide immediate solutions. In the first place, they shouldn't b. SONY's problem at all because they produce TVs and they're already a part of the TV history. Why not really bring their "TRUE" expertise? In the cam dept., they're cameras are just "OK" and not the "BEST." It shouldn't be a weakness, but a "STRENGTH" instead, given that they make sensors. There has to be a problem with the post processing I guesa. In fact, I am really puzzled why they fail to pull off top notch images that can surpass every top smartphone. They have brilliant RX series and alpha. Why not in Xperia phones too? Why do they even have problems that shouldn't be their problems at all? I am honestly a fan of Xperia, but already losing my enthusiasm. I look forward to Z4 tho. I wish them luck. Apple and HTC are there anyway. I just don't love Sam, the looks are very generic and not ultra smooth. I used the Note 3 and S5 btw and I'm backed up by what I experienced.

Sony makes good smartphones but their design is getting boring . Sony does a single thing juzt waterproofing !!!. And their xperia ui is also sluggish.... hTC makes good designs .. Sony should stay on stock android ..that will be better.!!!
