        Newbie Question:
Does the SIM card slot, in Galaxy Tab S LTE, indicate that tab can function as a cell phone? Does the LTE system enable it to function as a cell phone? Or more simply, is it a big phablet?

        Thank you

The stated dimensions for the 8" model are 198mm x 134mm. That's 2mm narrower and 20mm taller than the 2013 Nexus 7. A table with those dimensions would not be 4:3.

And hopefully it will have microUSB 3.0, since I experience loose microUSB 2.0 on several Smart Phones.

this tab S sounds like a downgrade more than anything. Aside from maybe having a better processor and thinner body, everything else is worse. Smaller screen, less resolution, same ram..

Listen! All your Super Amoled displays in tablet or phone have wrong white balance.

Worse than first Gen. About 20% better battery, but smaller screens, less ppi, and far worse battery. One has to be drunk to buy this. Better buy the "old" Gen, it's better equipped. And if one's to debloat it (TouchWiz is very annoying anyway) it's actually very fast too.

Tab S-2 < Tab S, hope it will also come cheaper

Antymalware, 19 Feb 2015As always….. Samsung thinks hardware is the way to go…. That’s why their sales are going drast... more5000 battery on a 10 inch tablet. That's the opposite of having good battery. Good luck to manage 3 consequent hours of screen time.

Sad the resolution will be lower, but this will greatly reduce the pressure on the cpu. The battery endurance will probably be the same despite it being smaller. Overall so far it seems like they're going to rival Apple directly, but sacrificing one of the predecessors' key selling points - QHD AMOLED screens for the straight rivalry in thickness and shit dissapoints me. Not to mention the media consumption with this new aspect ratio.

As always….. Samsung thinks hardware is the way to go…. That’s why their sales are going drastically down….. There is no need for desktop class innards to start with…… Whats the point of having such a specs if there are no quality apps for it!!!! The main thing in tablet space is not hardware but software (QUALITY apps) offered in the store with apps which Samsung and Google Play all lacking badly!!!!! App's, app's and app's!!!!!!!!! QUALITY APP's!!!! Samsung, go further with this way of thinking and you will end up like Nokia and BlackBerry……………………

And why change the aspect ratio?? 4:3 is f#ing stupid. You can read web pages and documents just as well but dont have to watch cropped movies and squashed games.

Stylus must be included. That's gonna make difference with iPad in terms of advantages.
