Is HTC a chinese company? I mean, MediaTek? Are they trying to reduce costs too?
Anonymous, 21 Feb 2015ois? no ois? Most likely yes to OIS being back again.
ois? no ois?
AnonD-366029, 20 Feb 2015Only if you use a foolish metric: More is better.
But more is not always better by every me... moreMultiple flaws here.
First off the iPhone camer did not spank the Z3 or any of the current ones. It may have some advantaves due to Sony's auto mode not being the best tuned. That being a weakness of Sony in their phones...Which even then is because Sony has troubles in this area. Not because iPhone is using a better sensor. Plus the iPhone has larger pixels.
And all this negates that the Z3 is actually capable of producing far superior shots. Especially with some user settings.
LG made a rushed QHD on a S801 chip. And this is reffering to LCD only and year old tech.
1080p LCDs were also more hungry at first. And the S801 had to struggle more to power those extra pixels.
The S805 and S810 can move those pixels around with dramatically less stress and consumed power.
Plus being that QHD has been around for a while it's seeing more and more efficiency gains.
AND the Note 4's 5.7inch QHD Amoled consumed up to 40% less energy compared to 5 inch 1080 LCDs like that of the M8.
AND it's objectively the World's best mobile display.
AND with the M8 especially reusing the 4up camera and taking out OIS was not simply a trade off. It was poor decisions and penny pinching.
They could have made a larger ultra pixel sesnor and there was no reason to take away OIS. And the purple fringe?
The trade offs they did make were for stereo speakers and design.
AnonD-365980, 20 Feb 2015You do realize FHD is superior to QHD, QHD is a battery killer, and on a smartphone its pointl... moreFalse. You can see the difference, there is a benefit, and a QHD Amoled from last generation even at 5.7 inches consumes up to 40% less power than a5 inch 1080p LCD
Only if you use a foolish metric: More is better.
But more is not always better by every metric. The iPhone camera spanks the Xperia camera, even though it is 8 mp compared to 20, because the software is better.
Similarly, the G3 experience shows us that QHD slams the battery so hard that you can, in some cases (notably games) literally watch the power indicator go down while you use it.
Every design is a tradeoff. HTC made an unwise tradeoff last time in its camera: more light gathering power at the expense of fuzzy images. For most people, QHD is also a bad design tradeoff: significantly worse battery life for imaginary gains in screen resolution.
AnonD-365980, 20 Feb 2015You do realize FHD is superior to QHD, QHD is a battery killer, and on a smartphone its pointl... moreYour remarks are misleading. QHD is obviously superior to Full HD, whether or not it makes a big enough difference to warrant the extra horsepower used and greater battery drain is an entirely different matter. As for not being able to tell the difference with the naked eye, again that is not true. Place the two screens next to each and you certainly can see the difference in sharpness, but again is whether or not that difference is big enough to justify the other trade-offs.
You do realize FHD is superior to QHD, QHD is a battery killer, and on a smartphone its pointless, you can't tell the difference with the naked eye, something with pixel density, you can't see it or tell the difference. If your buying a phone for specs, don't get an HTC.
It would not be worth any money if HTC comes out with the following:
1) only FHD screen
2) only corning gorilla glass 3
3) anything less than 2800 mAh battery
4) Anything less than 20MP rear camera with real professional software and settings.
I really wish Marketing team of HTC wakes up out of their own world and see the reality wherein you see likes of even ASUS zenfone 2 which are providing extravagant specs @12,900/- start price.
HTC are you listening or are you like Novell, Amway who died because they were deaf
why there is no flash light to the selfie camera?
the HTC Eye had one!
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2015Goddamn Anonymous my man...how much time did you spend writing that shit down? Not sure. The first one was a little bit longer because it was on a phone, but with keyboard so not bad. Next not that long.
But the point sure is made. Anyone unwilling to read it out accept the facts forfeit any knowledge or opinion on the matter lol. Like the Anon bias troll.
3 GB ram, but available only 2.6gb ram, 5.5 inch screen but battery..??? htc not provide high mAh battery. provide very low mAh battery,, but new design is very well...
Anonymous, 20 Feb 2015Lol you would take a list of detailed facts and turn it into a bias ramble of words in reply. ... moreGoddamn Anonymous my man...how much time did you spend writing that shit down?
AnonD-354781, 20 Feb 2015HTC is superior, which is why MKBHD and many other notable tech gurus has chosen it as phone o... moreAnd the most stupiest thing is to think that HTC will take the so called crown for the best smartphone in 2015 when absolutely NONE of the big smartphones was released yet. Or can you see in the future and know everyything about the S6, G4, Z4, M9, Note 5 and iP6 (+/++?)
But there are two things we definitely know atm.
The Exynos 7420 is superior over the SD 810 and will be propably the best CPU in 2015.
The Display of the S6 will be the best Display again.
But we don't know shit about camera, ram, battery life,UI and everything else.
AnonD-354781, 20 Feb 2015HTC is superior, which is why MKBHD and many other notable tech gurus has chosen it as phone o... moreThats bullshit and doesn't mean anything. Who gives a fuck about what those guys say? And why the fuck should they be on first place? They didn't have the best CPU, their camera sucks, their battery life sucked, their Display was far behind Apple and especially Amoled... Only thing what was good was their look but thats all.
When I look back at any professional journal, no HTC device was on first place during the last 2 years. In 7 of 10 professional journals it's always Samsung on first place with their S and Note line. Rest is either Sony or LG.
AnonD-354781, 20 Feb 2015HTC is superior, which is why MKBHD and many other notable tech gurus has chosen it as phone o... moreMaybe. I would still choose the Note line over the One line for many reasons. The One line is still a great choice though.
HTC is superior, which is why MKBHD and many other notable tech gurus has chosen it as phone of the year twice in a row. It looks like the HTC One M9 will take the crown for best phone of 2015, too.
