AnonD-367696, 25 Feb 2015So many people think Android is safer than IOS and a user of both systems, thats just not true... moreOh really? IS that why it only took them 10 years to determine which part of iOS had a botnet built into it that infected well over a million computers within a short time by the time they cleaned it up the mess awas around 25 to 100 million apple computers.

IMO, year change should be calculated over market share, not units sold. By this way, only Android increases participation, and Windows down impressive 18% (3.3 to 2.7).

As a centralized point of distribution, the App Store provides users with confidence that the apps they download have been tested and validated by Apple.
I'm saying: I'm not sure if you are aware of it, but it's a computer robot that checks every apps that goes to the App Store for 2 seconds before they gets accepted or not. It have been proven many times that someone with IQ enough will have no problems to go around that.
You said: Evidence of malicious malware showing up in the App Store is anecdotal at best, this is the complete oppersent to android where In 2011 alone, Google removed more than 100 malicious applications from its app store, problem was some of these malicious applications were more than a year old.
I'm saying: And the malwares you are thinking on Android are from china. Last report said that 10000 peoples was affected by a malware that faked the shutdown process. But 10000 out of how many that are living in China are so small numbers that it's not even something to be written about.
You said: This is why the number of threats on the Android platform continues to increase. In 2011 SophosLabs observed 81 times more Android malware in 2010―an 8,000% leap. In 2012 SophosLabs has already resulted in 41 times more malware than in all of 2011 a growth rate of nearly 4,100%, While on the IOS platform it has stayed stagnate.
I'm saying: Read my post over. Nothing, or as earlier reports have said, about 0.0001% of the apps that goes via the Play Store have gotten through with malwares. You are talking about apps from China installed outside of the Play Store which isn't even a thing for the rest of the world.
You said: Android users need you realise no matter what you do, a open source platform will alway be more vulnerable than a closed source platform.
I'm saying: That's true, but the argument that Android is full of malwares is some crap arguments from 2008-2009.
You have to look at the big picture today.
EDIT: And just so you know: http://betanews.com/2015/02/22/os-x-ios-and-linux-have-more-vulnerabilities-than-windows/
Android goes under the 'Linux kernel' there.
AnonD-367696, 25 Feb 2015So many people think Android is safer than IOS and a user of both systems, thats just not true... moreThe reason for that is -
All apple devices are same shit and all software releases are by default compatible, because again it is same shit.
The reason why it is much harder to roll out software update for android - there are millions of models which and all of them advancing very fast, which requires a lot of additional resources.
Finally, android releases takes about 1-2 months from announcement to reach end (compatible) devices. How comes it is outdated by the time it is released I don't know (juts stupid argument). Even more Android Devices are much more advanced in terms of hardware and in terms of software as well. So comparison with iShit updates roll out time is irrelevant here.
So after years of huffing and puffing (including the sacrifice of Nokia) Windows Phone finally arrived at 2.7%.
AnonD-367696, 25 Feb 2015So many people think Android is safer than IOS and a user of both systems, thats just not true... moredidn't the government just release a thread showing that Apple is not the most secure network out there? If I'm not mistaken Apple has three times more problems than Microsoft in regards to mallware and viruses. Wait no I am correct they did really sad and it does show that Apple has way more security issues than any other software on the market. And I mean period.
So many people think Android is safer than IOS and a user of both systems, thats just not true
A multitude of threats to Android could be greatly eliminated if all users upgraded their mobile phones to the latest version of the OS, problem is it takes google too long to roll out its latest version of the OS, by the time its rolled out, its already outdated, and time for google to roll out updates and patches, again problem is, by the time it hit the consumer, its again too late, compared to Apple that can send an update to is consumers that day compared to googles weeks and months.
i will repeat this...Apple does not have the same problem as android, as each release of iOS quickly reaches its users (we are taking hours), due to the fact that iOS updates are big events that prompt mass upgrades. This means that consequential security scares are rare enough to be big news when they occur. While there are drawbacks to Apple’s tight grip over everything that occurs on its OS, there’s no doubt it makes for a more secure environment for casual users.

AnonD-77464, 25 Feb 2015Why is the title "Android and iOS account for 96.3%" instead of "Android accoun... moreToo right mate! I agree.
I had an iPhone 5 as an upgrade for about 3 months and just couldn't wait to get back on to android.
The iPhone was quality but so boring and drab. Android rules!
I would have thought Android would be more, given every two-cent company can use it.
Congratulation Microsoft, you still manage to keep above both Symbian and Blackberry....
/S
Why is the title "Android and iOS account for 96.3%" instead of "Android accounts for 81.5%"
Why is it needed to put iOS on the title?
With not even 15% (compared to over 81% for Android), it's pathetic to put it "together" with Android in the title.
Even if you put iOS to "Others" together with WP and BB, Android will still have more than 4 times the market share of them all.
Rez, 25 Feb 2015Android still represents enormous security and bloatware issues. Excuse me, but we aren't in 2008 anylonger.
Android are in fact more secure and stable than iOS. This have been proved many times already.
That's what i've neen talking about for long time. Nokia should have beeb using Android 5 years ago.

Basic apps are missing, and if they are, the quality of them if very poor. Gave my wifes nokia to son for gaming and bought her an LG G3S. And even she said what a difference, so, this tells something about the platform.
BlackBerry shares has decreased remarkably. People should try using it. It's a really nice phone for free people who don't use too many apps. It's OS is fluid and very nice. Want to see BlackBerry back again like 5 years ago.....
Anonymous, 25 Feb 2015Windows will eventually take over #2 spot.I think they might for tablets scene. I LOOOOOOOOOOVE Win8.1 tabs. But not in smartphones... I'm willing to bet money that they won't crack double digits market share in smartphones.
Rez, 25 Feb 2015Android still represents enormous security and bloatware issues. ..and so is your house.. Is your house equipped with alarm? Security camera? Motion sensor? Heat sensor? Eye scanner and fingerprint scanner for opening doors? Direct comms with the police/fire dept? Panic room? Etc etc.. If not then why are you still living in that house?? Because it is SUFFICIENT.. Android may not be the most secure OS but it is sufficient enough for everyday usage
