To me S6 changes is very smart move :
- no SD slot, they change it to an early SSD speed memory that boost everything from app to file reading
- non removeable battery, lets face it not everybody bring extra battery everywhere they go. For me a battery that can last a whole working day is enough
- no waterproof, base from my experiance waterproof doesnt last long especially a gadget that has many holes. I had xperia z2 and at just 5 months of use then i bring it to a pool and boom water goes in. Better use a waterproof bag instead.
- DDR4 RAM, lightning fast performance.
The only thing i dont like is the screen size. So i probably wait for note 5 instead ;p
My biggest disappointment was in the ommitance of the waterproofing ability. The lack of SD card instance second. And removable battery third. My guess is they haven't mastered the art of sealing metal bodies against the elements. The 2nd and 3rd point could be argued but why did they not waterproof the thing? Because most people don't use get phone wet? I thought they wanted to build the best phone on the market, then why be any less than could be? I guess people want wafer phones then? Because every time they go thin, they tend to go built in and non-removable. Well, at least come out with a energy efficient pocket NAS battery powered nas. The S5 and Tabs can still hold more info than this one too, up to 32GB + 128GB = 160GB. And SD card means slower, but much cheaper space. Internal is faster but at a hefty premium, especially as these are new chip technology in the s6.
jusin, 09 Mar 2015hi, so you know, i got s5 32 GB(internal) with another 64 sd card, to date my internal 32 stil... moreI wouldn't have an issue if 64gb was the default storage option, but it isn't. They're probably going to go the route of Apple and charge +$100 for the next available option.
jusin, 09 Mar 2015are you kidding me!!! let it go already,,i challenge anyone of you to come up and make a phon... moreAs far as I know, Samsung is always on top in Specs but never perform well in TouchWiz UI. A Top notched specs that lags and freezes like on S5 is a disappointment.
Glaxy S6 and S edge will break all of records..It will be a market leader that we see all of Samsung Smartfone specialy S line up..It break I phone 6 very nicely..So Hand's up for Samsung.
Anonymous, 09 Mar 2015Same here. I personally think the Galaxy A7 is the most beautiful smartphone they've designed,... morehi, so you know, i got s5 32 GB(internal) with another 64 sd card, to date my internal 32 still got lots of space, so for me 64 is plenty! 128! will last me a life time!! so card slot is a none issue - why it is an issue to some? i have no clue!not sure either what people are storing in their phones? and why? ITS A PHONE NOT A MAINFRAME!
AnonD-349743, 09 Mar 2015I personally like how their entry and mid level hardware are built more than their flagships. ... moreSame here. I personally think the Galaxy A7 is the most beautiful smartphone they've designed, and it has a microSD slot. Why Samsung omitted microSD expansion is beyond me. It surely leaves a sour taste in my mouth, though. I don't think I can justify paying its asking without said feature.
Chuck007, 09 Mar 2015After thinking about it I doubt I'd go Android this generation but hope the thing sells like h... moreChuck,, if upto now you are still "thinking"of whether going Android? well ,, no point of changing now, id say just stick to what you've got - and don't even bother about "competition" because they will not wait for you, huge learning curve for you now,, so good luck, and please dont blame android or samsung as they say - you snooze - you loose!
AnonD-355421, 09 Mar 2015Please explain to me how a phone that isn't waterproof, has no removable battery and no microS... moreIn essense, there is no "best phone". Only a phone that suits you the most. If you don't like the phone (I don't know why you'd bash it considering it's not even out yet and I HIGHLY doubt you have a test unit), then it's not for you. Move on.
AnonD-355421, 09 Mar 2015Please explain to me how a phone that isn't waterproof, has no removable battery and no microS... morethen explain to me please Rajiv! why you are such an ignorant you don't even know what you are talking about. first there is no such thing as "water proof" none! s 5 is water resistant - big difference, s6 will charge wirelessly in 30 minutes! why bother with changeable battery and 3- its got max of almost 230 GB of storage (option 32,64 & 128 + 115 cloud) and 4th why can't you read and understand the specs first before you shoot your mouth, and 5th: i doubt it if you even own, a smartphone . so there,,
I'll buy the S6 edge in the heart beat
Anonymous, 09 Mar 2015The best, you people are very ignorance becouse Samsung play a very dirty game. This is no... moreEveryone has their individual opinions about which is the best phone. Yours is Sony Z series, but for others, Samsung S series especially this new breakthrough design with S6 edge, are their best phones so far. IMO, Sony Z series are darn boring.
Chuck007, 09 Mar 2015After thinking about it I doubt I'd go Android this generation but hope the thing sells like h... moreI had iPhones for 4 years, changed phone carriers and decided to try the Galaxy phone. Android is a lot better than ApplE, the operating system is much more flexible and customizeable than ios. Apple makes good products, do not get me wrong, but Android is better. I was shocked on the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus that they only have 1GB of RAM.
[deleted post]Because you are jealous of Samsung success? As far as I can see, S6 and S6 edge are the best design phone and specs out there. M9 is just so looking like another M8. Its camera is not big deal. Having a hump but no OIS???! Sucks!
[deleted post]are you kidding me!!! let it go already,,i challenge anyone of you to come up and make a phone that can surpass s6's to date!,, read the specs please and don't put it side by side with the fruit #6 , or any other smart phone for that matter cause that is an insult!!
After thinking about it I doubt I'd go Android this generation but hope the thing sells like hotcakes. More competition the better.
Tim, 08 Mar 2015Lots hate on samsung, but wake up people this is the best phone out there bar none!Well said
Hello to everyone! I currently have an iPhone 4. I like the Gear S and I think it requires a Samsung device. I'm looking at the Samsung S6 or S6 Edge. However, I'm hearing they're having some hardware problems. Is that true or hog wash? Please advise! Please keep in mind..... I'm not here to bash either company. Just needing some help.
