They do but very little, not like samsung (recycled plastic body and started water proofing only on S5) and Iphones (using single or just 2 CORES-cheap low-end processors). These 2 giants are even using Sony lenses on their phone cameras. But people says this or that phone camera is better.... You go on department stores every piece of posted ads are from Samsung and Iphones,so what is the impression of prospective buyers????? They call it MARKETING STRATEGY.

Sony prefers large bezels on top and bottom. I don't know why other manufacturers can and Sony can't. Let's say that Sony, prefers that bezel, can they not put the capacitive botton on the bezel itself? Like Samsung phones.

The only trade off is the slightly smaller screen.

I bought the Z3 the day it was available where I live. I love it, and hope Sony keeps this business going.
Even though I hardly remove my SD card, I wouldn't buy a phone without one. I like to load up 20-30 GB of my MP3 library, and periodically refresh it. A lot easier (faster) to do that with an SD card than over wifi or usb.

it looks like no matter what they do they will not be popular. the Z1 which is much older than iphone 6 is water proof and better ppi than iphone 6 and better camera...etc and people refused to buy it cause it is not advertised well and same thing for the Z2 AND Z3 so don't expect much

They need to change the design back to that of the Xperia Arc/V, along with adding a gippier back. The ergonomics of the Z3 are poor and it is hard to grip.

(1) No One noticed that Z4's frame is almost 2-3 mm smaller than Z3 in height.
(2) In place of 2-3 different flaps, there is only one flaps.
(3) Pogo pin charging port is missing.
Common SONY, really looking forward to replace my Z2.

D90, 09 Mar 2015That's the cost of having slimmer and glass-clad phones, unfortunately.I switched recently from Samsung to Huawei P7 - it has the glass back, SD card, and is the slimmest of them all. So, it IS possible ;-)
