Stan, 10 Mar 2015You're full of it! You never owned an android phone, and just trolling here... Reasoning: 1... moreYour reasoning is ridiculous also. No one wants to buy new phone after every couple of months. And hey, if i use OS, why should _I_ make it work? But you are partly right. I came from Symbian, used Android for 2,5 years (Xperia S) and now i have enough. Windows, here i come.
Stan, 10 Mar 2015You're full of it! You never owned an android phone, and just trolling here...
Reasoning:
1... moreI bet your Samsung Galaxy S will not run LollyPop 5.1, and the Nokia Lumia 520 WILL run Windows 10.......
And that my friend makes sense for a Phone Update, since in WP EVERY SINGLE PHONE from Lumia 520 to Lumia 1520 will have Windows 10, and NOT EVERY Android phone will run newer updates...and the most nice part, runs smooth, no major hardware requirement and no 3GB RAM, 4K screen, Octacores CPU needed for run the OS as the way is supposed to....
Why?did Google with the Lollipop Update,Stop All the Data on/off Widgets from the Play Store Stop Working on Android seemed Very Odd Indeed,Hope this New Update can get these Widgets working on phones Again
when lolipop update is coming to bangladesh for note3 users
Anonymous, 10 Mar 2015Long time given up on South African carriers to push updates. I just download the OTAs on Xda ... moreHTC has released lollipop last month. Only samsung and Sony that are behind. I still prefer Kitkat over lollipop. HTC m8 best phone ever
Woosh, 10 Mar 2015Blame the operator... i've been running 5.0 on my note 3 for a good while now(its carrier free... more+1
I'm still waiting for a 5.0 as well on my Note 3. AT&T here in USA is to blame. TMobile has already pushed the upgrade for it's users.

Reasoning:
1) Fragmentation doesn't affect end-user, but rather affects manufacturers and app developers. It's better to have your phone not upgrade to a new version, than to have a case of iPhone 3Gs and iPhone 4, where a new version of OS completely cripples your product.
2) Hardware requirements were never crazy. Android ran without lag on every phone i owned, which were Galaxy S, Galaxy S2, HTC One M7, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Note 3. The key was always to keep your phone from running a bunch of apps in paralel. In contrast, every one of my friends iphones feels like a dog, for that very reason, and iPhone has just as high end hardware with crazy specs, as any top end Android phone.
So even if you owned an android phone, the problem was you, not the phone.
what about nexus 6?
AnonD-371586, 10 Mar 2015Me too exynos note 4 gold(South Africa)Long time given up on South African carriers to push updates. I just download the OTAs on Xda developers and flash it myself
That's why I left Android behind. Fragmentation+ridiculous hardware requirements to run it without lag.

Cenas, 10 Mar 2015If a Vanilla Android version of the Edge ever comes out I'm all over it!Why would you then buy a S6 Edge? Buy a normal S6!
You need touchwiz to get the full potential out of the edges of the S6 Edge.
With Vanilla Android you lose that functionality.
Your best option would be an AOSP custom ROM, that can take advantage of the Edge's left+right edges, but you will have to wait for a XDA Dev to take on that task (if anyone does).
Still waiting for lollipop on my note 3 😧😔
Well Motorola, how "fast" will you be this time
If a Vanilla Android version of the Edge ever comes out I'm all over it!
Still waiting for 5.0 for my Note 4! (UK model on Vodafone.)
