D Dub, 12 Mar 2015I just hope they still include the fingerprint scanner.Nope, I don't care at ALL about fingerprint scanner. Most useless function of a phone, that has many alternatives, such as the old-school password...
However, memory card, yeah! Would be nice, even though it may mean that they won't use the "ssd type" of harddrive in the active. Bigger battery??? That would be the best, and main reason I would wait for an active version compared to normal... Nowadays phone died for 1 day with normal use (without battery saver option). Well, I don't want to have a charger at work/car and everywhere I go, so battery is number 1 for me. Any protection is welcome (water/dust/fall whatever) and memory card is also very welcomed. Most important - battery!
Fingerprint scanner, what? Whatever, a function that doesn't bring any benefit or advantage, just some fashioned sensation that I personally prefer to go without.
AFter the S5 kept the 32bit processor and did not add image stability, I held on to my ancient s3 knowing the s6 would be for me.. Nope. No removable battery really sucks, no SD card is a deal breaker. Alas(!) the Active version!! Larger battery (better), removable SD card with all the tech features = I'll take it. I would like the finger print security but don't have to have it. Fingers are crossed.

I hope Samsung will not do the same mistakes that they... moreFrom what I've read online, I doubt we will see the return of the user removable batter and the micro SDCard slot in the Galaxy S6 Active. Which is a really big bummer as allot of people like these features in the Samsung Galaxy S series. Hopefully, Samsung won't remove these features from the Galaxy Note series too.
I just hope they still include the fingerprint scanner.
they should have just made the damn s6 water and dustproof like s5 how hard would that have been? i would never a buy a non IP classed phone today sorry..
S6 Active is the LAST HOPE for Samsung. I hope Samsung will not do the same mistakes that they did with the original S6.
I'm talking about these serious problems:
-non-removable battery
-glass back
-no memory card support
So if S6 Active won't have these porblems, then this will be the best phone.
Original S6 for fanboys, S6 Active for serious users.
Anonymous, 12 Mar 2015With 3500 mah, this beast can kick @** of any phone in battery performance...If it will have removable battery, you will be able to replace the battery to a bigger one, that has 2x or 3x the capacity of stock battery.
So if the phone has removable battery, you can expect 7000-10000mAh extended batterires will be available too (for example ZeroLemon battery).
AnonD-259543, 12 Mar 2015Very uglyPraticality > Looks. If you want a sleek looking device, opt for the standard edition. If you want a tough device that'd literally weather the storm and has MicroSD expandability and a removable 3,500mAh battery, then this is the phone for you.
good, 12 Mar 2015that photo is the s5 actually :>Well... they did say that it was the S5 if you read the article, so suprise?

Very ugly

active series not so tough,go to xcover series
Looks like it has the speaker in the back like the previous generations so, not quite everything is the same as the S6

Anonymous, 12 Mar 2015Because it seems Samsung doesn't have the skills to do so like Sony. They can't keep a phone w... moreReally??? Sony is possibly removing SD card and water proofing from z4 as well so as to make device slimmer... S6 at least has removable back so as we can change battery when it starts giving low backup... And surely, s6 well be better then z4 as per what we can see till now in leaks...
Anonymous, 12 Mar 2015Bigger bezels, yes..but not to the extent of Active models. Remember that from Z2 there are al... moreWell I disagree.
When you compare the dimensions of the Xperia Z2 to the Galaxy S5 Active (which was released around the same time), it's pretty close :
Xperia Z2 = 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 (163g)
S5 Active = 145 x 73 x 9 (170g)
So I still think that what I said was right, especially since the S5 Active was quite attractive as well (imho).
AnonD-69077, 12 Mar 2015They can the S5 mini is water resistant and has open USB port.It would be a hit if it offered flagship specs just like the Z compacts..
