Let's see it too... HTC had to make those bezels because of speaker and display drivers.. It has to go somewhere.. Secondly thinner phone would decrease battery capacity which is also a dumb thing to do at the expense of making the phone slimmer ... Also making a plastic phone would eliminate the most striking feature of the one series i.e metal body.. So they can't do it either.. At 650$ it's decently priced... And with a 1080p probably the most sensible too...

glad, 13 Mar 2015Just trying to understand these latest features. Could you explain it ?For example, the fingerprint sensor, the payment system, QHD display, fast processor, great camera with optical image stabilization etc, etc, etc. Only a few things which I now remember.
I admit, it was a bad move from Samsung to remove sd card slot, but other than that, it's far better than the M9.
Give my one reason, why I should get the M9 instead of the S6 or the Edge?

If HTC is smart, they will just cancel this phone and not bring it on the market. Make another phone with less bezels, a couple of millimeters less fat and make a normal camera glass on the back. Then add some useful things on the software, like floating apps to truly multitask. Also they can make the price around 200 euro cheaper by just using plastic but with nice design. Then market the phone in an effective way where the advantages of the phone are clear to the consumers. Not waste money by hiring Gary Oldman or Robert Downey Jr. to make pointless commercials. Look at the Alcatel Idol 3 or the Acer Liquid Jade S. Phones that are three times cheaper and look much better. HTC shoots themsvelves in their own foot over and over again.

Just kidding...but S6 does look more different than S5.

People are happy to pay more for the S6 and edge because of it's latest features, better camera, better sleek design.

In the meantime, this phone seems to be the most reasonably priced FLAGSHIP one to wellcome your SD card from your old Samsung flagship phone. If Note5 will also insanely priced like S6, than this will be my next phone.
