It will be fixed in the final software? Sorry I really really doubt so after firstly reading rumours Samsung drop the S810 due to overheating problems, then seeing how bad overheating is on LG G Flex 2 and finally seeing the same on the M9, I find it hard to believe it is just a software issue.

I am guessing they are just gonna add in even more thermal throttling, making it more cooling but more terrible performance.

Expecting games to lag just after playing it for less than 5 mins.

why make it sound it is bad with limited information?

The report should come with performance numbers and throttling behavior. Is it performance while plugged-in or while charging?

Software update from HTC would just limit the performance potential.

Some people are unnecessarily trying to find out flaws.

I'm gonna wait till the price comes down a little more then get that beast. Might be the very last superphone available with a removable battery & SD card slot.

Dude, no one is going to buy it unless someone has a solution for the problem. (Well, at least if your hand is heat-resistant.)

Hi. I can attest to the heat issues with this device, as I just got released from the intensive care unit after suffering 3rd degree burns to my hands after wielding the HTC One M9 for no longer than 30 minutes. It amalgamated with my hands and became one with my flesh. I've a pending litigation with HTC, and I'm seeking damages up to $50 million!

[deleted post]At least on the S6, changing the launcher will fix it. With overheating on the S810, expect thermal throttling most of the time and all your games will just run smooth for the first 1 min and lags terribly due to overheating.

Yeah, this reminds medays when in 2011 I bought original Samsung I9100 which had severe heating problems. While playing games it heat up to 46C. One time I left it paused on heavy game while charging. When I returned, the app showed that it's temperature is 55C! I couldn't even hold with bare hands. Was afraid that it could explode.
Samsung serice didn't fix the problem nor replaced it. Was very glad that after 1.5 years I sold it at a bit less than half price I paid.
