MS had purchased NOKIA hardware section for expansion. Their strategy failed, their sale are declining. MS had made wrong decision. After realizing this, they started ignoring their own OS. Apps & Games available on MS are just a fraction compare to other platforms. Developers are not interested to port/develop for MS.
MS Office is better on IOS & Android than MS. Soon, Cortana will be cross platform. Surely, it will be better on IOS & Android than MS. Same will be the case for Spatarn. If possible, learn something from BBRY. BBM (even with small user base compared to others) is still better on BBRY phones than cross platform.

This could be a game-changing cooperation. Xiaomi needs IPs and MS needs more smartphone users.

This is March 2015 and my Lumia 1020 still do not have continous vibration alert for incoming calls.

Whatever you do MS you will remain far behind others. MS cannot even copy features from other platforms properly.

I wonder how long it will remain a half baked OS.
When WP7 came people said its going to rule the world, then came 7.5 ,7.8,8.0,8.1
now same is said about WP10,hope this time they get it right.

Are not windows phone pretty cheap already? Lumia flagship Lumia 930 costs about 450 dollar. And 1520 is even cheaper. Will xiaomi make that even lower.

Microsoft, in addition to owning Nokia, should buy out Xiaomi in order to build out Windows 10 Phones/Tablets. Microsoft makes great hardware, look at the Surface Pro series in general. What Microsoft needs to do is to ensure all top Android apps are avaiable for the Windows phone platform. Keep the Xiaomi pricing in place as per their exisiting Android products and go head-to-head with Google and Apple. Basically don't do what Blackberry did.
