CrazimanO, 19 Mar 2015I thought of buying this phone few years back, But unfortunately I didn't buy, Now I'am owning... moreExcept ios updates are watered down and in 3 or 4 updates have little change compared to 1 update of android in change or functionality.
And they tend to bog down the older iphone.
And let's not even get into the massive app crashes
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015How is one company doing this describe all???
And since when was iOS updates which barely c... moreU mean like the Lumia 520 which was launched the same date as the htc one m7 at MWC 2013 but with 1/4 of the price of the one m7, ohhhh I forgot, MS is updating the 520 to W10, so the low end user of WP is getting more updates the high end user of android. How ironic !!.
As powerful as android is, downplaying WP or trying to downplay this tragic news are just hiding behind the fact that, indeed, one of android's achel's heels is its update (or lack thereof) cycle including the high end segment. Funnily, the Htc 8x (which is 8 months older) might get W10 as well
AnonD-348141, 19 Mar 2015I'm not a fanboy who bashes anyone. I have had many devices from most of the major manufacture... moreAnd further fanboy cries proving exactly what I said. Are you going to do this in every reply?
AnonD-348141, 19 Mar 2015The Note 2 is only 6 months older than the M7 (release dates) so it isn't that much of an olde... moreWe'll its older and came out the year before but thats not much older. ...again thanks for proving my point.
And that completely negates that while htc m7 is not gettinga full two years update the Note 2 will be getting almost 3 when it gets it update.
Anymore denial and pricing my point?
it's no fault of HTC alone, but it's pathetic how fast smartphones become obsolete! i'm glad aftermarket support exists! thank god for all those xda devs...
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015How is one company doing this describe all??? And since when was iOS updates which barely c... moreNo Only Wp7.5 devices has been axed. And that was only beacuse of kernel change. All the later wp8.0 devices are fine and will get win10 shortly.
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015Again...As they already pointed out...The Note 2 is older. And they already said they would. T... moreThe Note 2 is only 6 months older than the M7 (release dates) so it isn't that much of an older device. The processors are probably comparable so of course Samsung will look to update it.
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015Thank you for proving exactly what I said. I'm not a fanboy who bashes anyone. I have had many devices from most of the major manufacturers and I work in the tech industry.
I haven't bashed anyone but pointed out the obvious that HTC puplicly stated that they would be supporting their devices for 2 years. The 2 years for the M7 are up so why are people complaining???
And then trolls like you coming on saying it's a horrible move (your statement doesn't make sense as they are only keeping to what they promised).
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015I understand personal preference, but how is the M9 objectively better?sense 7 is better n smoother than touchwizz on S6 wish lags when scroll in home screen specially to n from flipboard, its design is also better rounded, the dual speakers, more pixels 20 vs 16 allow for better digital zooming. its weird that note 4 makes better pics than s6 except for night pics, n yes even tho S6 has a faster internal flash disk, i cant get over not being able to use external SD in S6 compared to M9, i am also aware that S6 excel in CPU power, but anyway regardless of wat i think is better i would still think both are not worth it, i would rather buy a nexus 6 or maybe a newer nexus when it come out for the love of stock android, longer support, n better value for money
AnonD-242440, 19 Mar 2015Just one more reason to buy Windows Phones or iPhones, Android's lack of support is incomprehensibleHow is one company doing this describe all???
And since when was iOS updates which barely change anything and make their older devices work worse anything to brag about?
And WP has dropped the axe on many devices. Such bias views you have.
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015It's quite hilarious how horrible a move this is from HTC and yet just like apple boys there a... moreHow is it a horrible move? They said from the M7 onwards there would be a 2 year cycle of upgrades. The M7 is 2 years old now and recently got 5 so they are keeping to what they had specified 2 years ago. Don't complain about something that has been common knowledge for a long time.
AnonD-108806, 19 Mar 2015It's not about being powerfull. HTC has a 2-year update guarantee. So, you are awarned when yo... moreWell that's not a full two years. And bs that others do not guarantee the same or better.
It's quite hilarious how horrible a move this is from HTC and yet just like apple boys there are tons of fanboys in here defending blindly this axe to their devices and bashing others in response.
what a shame, after my horrible experience with HTC butterfly, i decided not to buy HTC ever again, with M9 i had to admit its a better device than galaxy S6, but its like i will buy neither of them when i come to USA, i will just buy me a nexus device, the old nexus 4 till this day gets update till 5.1 while new devices like HTC butterfly, stuck at 4.3 and HTC butterfly s 4.4 & HTC one M7 stuck at 5.0 the only high end device worth buy is galaxy note series, the old note 2 will be update all the way to 5.0 n lenovo, i have a mid range lenovo updated from 4.0 all the way to 4.4 better support than anything HTC ever did for a flagship phone.
Julian, 19 Mar 2015I'm going to highlight one word from your comment: PLANNING. They were planning to update the ... moreLOL! So because they make a factual comment in reply to a htc fanboy non factual one you have to get hurt and bash on the 4.4 update to the S3...Which turned out great btw. And all phones have had update bugs. HTC Samsung LG Apple Sony Nokia all....
And the S3 got 4.4 as a 2012 device before most 2013 devices were getting it. And the Note 2 as a 2012 device will be one of the only ones to be getting Lollipop.
In fact there is even a chance the S3 will even be getting lollipop.
So this statement "So, people, please, PLEASE, don't waste your time making stupid statements about something you don't know." applies very much to you too.
Anonymous, 19 Mar 2015Actually, HTC ONE M7 ALREADY updated to 5.0 and NOT just a promise like those Note 2Again...As they already pointed out...The Note 2 is older. And they already said they would. The S4 and Note 3 of the same year have been receiving the update already.
You just got hurt by the facts of their comment which was not bashing.
Their comment was factual in response to a fanboy non factual comment.
