It's not about being powerfull. HTC has a 2-year update guarantee. So, you are awarned when you buy it. Other companies do not guarantee that.

Neb, 19 Mar 2015Well done HTC two years of brilliant updates. Brilliant? The phone is less than 2 years old. 5.0 was released more than half a year ago and 5.1 is mainly a big bugfix to it. De facto HTC left support just 1,5 years after release. And now saying to its customers - we brought you lots of bugs with 5.0, but those are your business, we won't fix them.

Typical HTC if you ask me when smartphones such as the Nexus 4 and Motorola Moto G are still getting Lollipop updates on hardware that less powerful that the HTC M7

It's a shame really, as the OG One is in my opinion the best HTC handset ever released, but HTC promised two years of timely updates and they delivered without a catch. Remember most OEM's only give 18 months, so that's something to consider. Let's see if Samsung updates the S4 to 5.1, I hardly think that is going to happen.

I stopped using my original i4 after 3 years due to the painfully-slow web rendering performance, and I skipped all of the later updates due to widespread reports of lagging operation on the newer iOS versions. My M7 has served me well for the past 2 years, and is still keeping up admirably.

                                  F**k Google..

To get more revenue with user date, they support each and every device manufacturer so that loads of devices can flood the market. Thats the end from their part. They never check or enforce the 18 month support policy..

Manufactures who is also in business for money never updates any of the lower devices and support to high end devices can be stopped abruptly when they think that the previous years high end device can damage the sales of this year high end..

So all who suffers is customers who in turn loses the game while Google & OEM wins..
