Pre-loaded apps is good but the idea of a phone with 4GB of RAM is stupid? And how do you know Android only use 500MB of RAM? Take one of my phones for example - Z3C - rooted, completely debloated and no apps loaded (recent apps panel is clear) but it still use almost 900MB of RAM. With modern apps getting heavier and heavier e.g Needs For Speed, and Android can't optimize RAM like iOS or Windows does, it's not a bad idea to have 4GB of RAM so Android can have all frequently used apps pre-loaded.
We can now see who's the stupid one here. You're also rude and absurd.

But either way it is a customized chipset and they would have definitely worked on Moto X the day they completed the OTA on Moto X 2nd Gen. So idk what your problem is. I haven't seen any other OEM device running lollipop except maybe HTC One M8 and LG G3. My Moto G 1st Gen is on 5.0.2.

You are comparing storage to RAM let alone comprehend the actual issue which people are referring to (which doesn't exist which they would know if they understood it as well). People aren't complaining about storage on Android, as it currently supports 2T btw. People are complaining about the high RAM usage. Which is stupid. They want a phone with 4GB RAM but doesn't use more than 500MB. What they don't understand is RAM not used is wasted RAM. Android pre-caches heavy applications such as music players or galleries according to the available RAM so that they start op quicker and have all the content pre loaded. If you have less RAM, it can't, and doesn't, so the entire application has to be loaded in the RAM every time you open it which takes more time.

So no kernel upgrade, it will remain Linux-3.4.42 in lollipop also. While new phones with SD-805 are running on Linux-3.10 kernel. These are taking more than expected time just for testing.. oh.. no its Soak testing. This is where companies like Moto will be acquired and they forget about their flagship devices. Crappy X8 computation.. !!

[deleted post]Oh boy ?? Is it ? So people are crying who all purchased Nexus 6 ?? Lollipop came with some good animations 60FPS which android was missing after iOS. This is not a Nokia phone which is bug free. Android is filled with bugs and issues.. so customer who purchases costly flagships.. is not to cry when others are enjoying latest improvements. My Moto-X is already screwed with bugs in Wifi and Force close issues.

Moto X 1st Gen 2013 in the UK Sim Free unlocked and not network branded is still on Kitkat 4.4.4 with bugs and bad battery performance. No sign of 5.0.2 Lollipop and if 2nd gen gets 5.1 so should 1st Gen.
