I really was looking forward to this phones release but the ridonculous price blew me away. At this current recession times, where most people are still unemployed and living frugally, this phone will only do well on good ol' Euro countries and wealthy cities alike. Cheap plastic materials didnt do justice towards this phone's absurd price. I would like to see at least metal body construction for such a high price like that. Raw materials alike shouldnt be that expensive since they're already manufactured in China. The technical specifications of these phone is already outdated and so is the stupid SE port that they use for the earphones, FUGLY! A bad marketing decision once more. Looking forward to X3 tho.
Ι dont like this because i dont like Sony Ericsson... But i think that it is the best mobile that SE has ever make...
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2009Why is everyone so obssessed with 3.5 mm headphone jack for phones? They have too much spare 3... moreBecause they are used to the stupid headphones Nokia and HTC give in their packages. This is Sony Ericsson dudes, they always include good headsets in their mid and high range models. And c'mon. 500-600Euro is a normal STARTING price for this monster. What did you expect? 280Euro? This isn't the alpha-test phone 5800, but properly manifactured masterpiece.
Can't wait to see the full review.
tid_ff, 07 Oct 2009do I need a stylus to use it or with my finger only? quality? i don't konw?You can use finger or stylus. Resitive is flexible than capasitive because capasitive only respon with finger. CMIIW
Why is everyone so obssessed with 3.5 mm headphone jack for phones? They have too much spare 3.5mm headphones in their homes?

Do you know why Satio sale in my country Cambodia
cost only 650$ But the same one sale in europe
cost up to 928$ (650 euro) ?
Overpriced , now dated technology .... This will be another flop show from SE....
The price in the article is not correct. In Europe it costs about 520 Euro.
this phone is just a marketing stunt from SE...
3.5" => HTC Leo = 4.3"
600Mhz => TG01/HTC Leo = 1GHz
12MP => who gives a f###? why would anyone need a 12MP on a phone???
this phone will die on its a@@....
SE are dead if they can only come with that kind cr@p
Heard that the pre-order is already sold out. they won't take any more orders until stocks are filled up.
in denmark
its out for 510€... a fair price
overpriced = iphone at 940€ in sweden for a 2 year contract. that is the cheapest too...
No apologize for 100 Euro over Price....?
i dont like sony, suxx software and design.. but yea, for me..
atleast this one is better than the iphone xD (not that difficult)
i would buy this one and not the iphone, even if i dont like sony xD
Anonymous, 07 Oct 2009Have you seen the media capabilities of this phone? It's just really amazing!! It's so smooth ... moreand do you think it's the first timer from any phone? LOL.
Any samsung phones have that brilliant UI, nothing unique here..
and their price way below. What makes it so expensive for outdated resistive phone? who cares 12 mp. it's just marketing gimmick. Good 8mp camera is actually enough!
Great phone. Think GSM are off by 100Euros. Seen it for 550Euros. Still pricey but, standard for the feature set upon initial release. SE is on back on track.
However,
HOW did SE NOT put a 3.5MM JACK on this phone?!?!
Have you seen the media capabilities of this phone? It's just really amazing!! It's so smooth and has stunning animations and a brilliant UI! Very good phone... I think the phone is definitely worth it since its truly a multimedia phone..
toni, 07 Oct 2009Looks like the resistive touchscreen of Satio is its Achilles heel & the 12mp cam can't save i... moreAgreed!!
So disastrous to see the great Sony Ericsson Satio fall by the wayside , even the awesome 12mp loses by miles to those nippy Koreans . Wakey up ! before its all over
In switzerland the sony ericsson satio cost only 461€.
650€ it's like 984.- swiss franc way to expensive o_O !!
