Great news and very interesting. Have been thinking for a while that a lipstick size phone about 100mm in length that the screen that can be pulled out like a roller blind to the size you want. Smartphone, phablet and Tablet in one device. Agreed with the other statements that battery tech does need a big improvement but with the solid state battery tech and some of the other new battery tech in the pipe it might be close. This is a great stepping stone on the road to some very interesting tech of the future.

AnonD-22824, 24 Mar 2015Where wud be the battery? Big question.??don't worry they can't make a phone just of the screen itself. It will need to be something like.. phone one side and screen the other side, which will be a useless phone.

If those above stated are what you need, there are smartphones that offers almost all that you need . You want 5 days???? Use ultra power saving mode(you get over 1 day with around 10% in s5 and still you can browse, whatsapp and call). Thats all that you will get with todays tech. If you dont want QHD, dont go for it. There are plenty alpha dogs that offer FHD.

Rather they should look on many better things like how they can keep smartphones cooler on constant usage as yo see you buy a iphone 5/6 or a samsung Note2/3/4 they all heat up like hell if you use it constantly for half an hour or so, better long lasting batteries genuinely and not only on papers.

Enough with these kind of technology..smartphones tech are getting more and more ridiculous..what we need in a smartphone is the battery that lasts at least 5 days even with an internet data, stable softwares and IP rated..in terms of screen resolution, full HD is MORE than enough as 2K resolution is, well, unnecessary because it's gonna drain your battery..
