I live in Indonesia. Although the price of Blackberry Classic in Indonesia is cheaper than in India, the existence of many cheap android smartphone is a huge threat for Blackberry. Many people compare what they can get with the price. Blackberry must target niche market, people who cannot move on from qwerty keypads while providing good aplications. Otherwise, Blackberry will not be survive in the smartphone competition.
Rizuki, 25 Mar 2015Hey Gsmarena
You type the price wrong.
The right one is Rp 5.590.070 or as read in 5 Million... moreYeah.. I Think IDR 599,000.00
MY 8530 still fine..
Snapdragon S4 processor? with adreno 225. What a very old hardware. How can blackberry sell the such a prehistoric spec for $400. is it made of Gold?
They are now frustrated. they want to rip people off.
After owning every bold blackberry model ever produced, and advocating for sometime, to the top brass at blackberry, to bring out a 9900 replacement with a keyboard giving us a proper business phone. Then buying the Blackberry Classic (the 9900 model replacement) directly from Blackberry itself back in December 20, 2014, to help the company and get my supposed "ready for release" updated and better than ever Blackberry's most current model.
Well to say the least I am the most disappointed I have been ever, considering all of my over 20 purchases of Blackberry phones, with the Blackberry Classic since i received and used it. It most definitely has many bugs, mis-representations, and down right it's the worst phone I have ever used. It reminds me of those early motorola smart phones that never worked right... and was their demise. I can not even get proper support for it. The 30 day free support was a joke I didn't have enough time to write a 200 page book explaining all the over 50 problems with this phone and OS. They said these are mostly programming issues and will take time to repair, there's nothing we can do for you at present. I felt like a guinea pig for the company and like they thought it was my job to help them make their product work properly. They asked me to go online and use the Blackberry Form to let other's know and work it out that way because they can not offer me any more support. With my phone still not working properly and costin my money (making me lose money, lost calls etc...) I gave up on them.... Now as of late last week now when I receive an incoming call, my Blackberry Classic automatically adds an extra digit to the number calling. So, in order to call back that number, I have to write down the number properly, figuring out which digit is extra and has to be omitted, then manually punching the correct number or trying more than one before I can redial any missed call. Some business phone! The Blackberry Classic is a disgrace and very embarrassing to use.
I am now getting ready to proceed in a class action lawsuit against Blackberry over the Blackberry Classic Release and this not working phone they sold me, which they don't actually support. Its seems the company is only chasing profits and not actually building customers as they once did. I was the most Loyal Blackberry customer ever until this last purchase. I just lost yet another job this morning because it took me 5 minutes to return the call, figuring out the right actual number sequence. The BB Bold's made me money and much more efficient than any phone on the market, not anymore. Unless they fix this problem , I am sure Blackberry's days are finally numbered. This will be their end.
This phone is not worth it, for that price in India there are far better options in both Android & windows.
$430? Good luck!
I don't see many indonesian will be convinced to buy this. Too expensive with such a low spec. For that price, you could get OnePlus One here, or even Lenovo Vibe X2 which is a way lot better than this.
Blackberry.. RIP..

High price, dated hardware, non-removable battery. Even a Blackberry Bold owner myself still think 10x to buy this.
Both my Bold and Gemini still works fine, they have removable battery, I don't have interest to buy any newer Blackberry until they set the price right, and reasonable.
very very expensive phone nothing on it..r.i.p
After all this time they're still relying on the Classic (pun intended), no wonder they're about to go extinct.
Anonymous, 25 Mar 2015Blackberry Gone Mad. LOlThey didn't went bad. It's just that these days there sales have been low so they have increased too much price for this to earn more money.
Anonymous, 25 Mar 2015no removable battery= no buy. based on my personal experiences, blackberry's batteries onl... moreWhat kind on nonsense are you talking about?? I have a Blackberry Z30 with a non removable battery and I am a heavy user and its been a year and half and battery is going if not better with each update coming out.
As a qwerty lover, blackberry keyboard will always attract people like me. Do not plan to get one, but definitely want to try the device.
I hope blackberry survive this hard time, with Mr. Chen as the CEO
to be honest i won this mobile >>> it is awesome >> business machine unleashed nothing can get closer full day battery with 4g and keyboard with navigation is another story > if u r a business man u will be glad about this phone
Blackberry Gone Mad. LOl
no removable battery= no buy.
based on my personal experiences, blackberry's batteries only last for a year before it became unusable.
with removable battery, you just need to buy a new set of battery and you're good to go.
but with non removable battery,
you need to go to nearest service center where they tear down your phone and -unfortunetally- reset and delete all your datas/phonebooks/etc.
and considering how awful service centers in Indonesia is.
the process will cost you your precious time and money, and you'll need an amount of anger management.
i know, because i've been there...
For that price, I'd rather get a Oneplus One, or a 2nd hand HTC One M8. Mind you I am from Indonesia as well and I reckon Blackberry's way too left behind in terms of App selection.
As an Indonesian i don't think blackberry will selling well this time
