So I was carried away with the S6edge video on youtube stating the phone is waterproof, had an argument with a friend about it, then i dipped my phone into water for about 2sec immediately the phone went off, tried switching it on, it brought samsung then went back off showing green then purple kinda light then the screen went black showing nothing, I tried charging it to no avail screen still showing black screen, it currently with the fan now, and am thinking of using the rice solution but i cant wait for 2days plus, do i take it to a phone repairer or just use the rice solution.

Forgot it was in back pocket and it fell in. Got it out immediately and dried it off, but problem is I had 2 more hrs to go. Put it in rice when I got home and left it overnight. Kept checking it over my 2 days off and tonite it powered up and i checked my ring app, but then it froze. Couldn't shut it down, nothing. It finally shut down on it's own. So back in the rice it goes. I've already ordered a new phone so if it comes alive all the way great, if not I'll have the other. But the rice trick does work.
i dropped my phone in the bath! it works but the clear apps button keeps on pressing by its self! ima dry it or repair it at a shop lol

I dropped my s6 Edge in the toilet. After drying it right away and rebooting the phone, the Home button and power buttons were not responding. Everything else seemed to work fine. I used a hair dryer on low heat and held it about 10-12 inches from the charge port. After about 10 minutes, the Home button was again working. I checked the power button and it started working again about a minute after the Home button. Hope this helps someone.

Son got water in his phone, tried to dry with silica beads and sunlight, still did not work, screen would go on, but battery life said 100% as soon as it was unplugged from charger it would go off. Saw a sign in Staples about Tek Dry Device Rescue, if it didn't work, I wouldn't be charged-nothing to lose. Low and behold, new life was brought to the device!! Works great...get it too a Staples Tech Center quick- tech said works best within 48 hrs.
Phone dropped in the loo for seconds - tried everything to dry it out as it had message 'BATTERY TEMP TOO LOW' and wouldn't charge. Samsung told me it was beyond repair.
Two weeks later I have my phone fully working!!
Put the phone in the oven . . . Yes the oven! At 50.degrees. Keep the door open to warm and dry out the phone. Leave for 2 hours then plug the charger In and keep in the oven. Mine fully rexharged after about 3 hrs. Worth trying as a last resort. Especially if you didn't back anything up !
dropped my phone in the potty. lol. well. I dried it with a towel as fast as possible. noticed condensation on the camera. I got my hair dryer out and used it on all the openings till the condensation was gone. Luckily, it worked. For a minute it was acting funny, ie, the keypad while texting wouldn't work properly. Shut my phone off and used the hair dryer again. Kept the hair dryer about a foot away from the phone for about 10 minutes. Charged it. And it works like nothing happened. Hope this helps. Btw, it was only in the water for about 1. second.
