doing my laundry a little bit of soapy water spilled on my phone ,cleaned it quickly but was too late my screen turned green before going off took it to samsung service center they called about half the price of the saying the panel need to be changed
I dropped my phone in the pool for like 7 secs and took it as quick as i could and wiped it, it then went black. Showing nothing, i thought it was the battery so i charged it and in doing so, my screen stayed black and there's now a constant red light.
I was watching youtube while bathing and then I closed my eyes. When I opened my eyes I was shocked to see a corner of my phone inside the water. I immediately took it out and then opened the sim card slot and try to shake the droplets out. Then I went to my fast charger to charge it. It charged, and I could use it fine, but when I unplugged it it just turns off. It only works when plugged in. Any ideas on what I can do?
My s6 fell in the sink while I was brushing my teeth and it won't fast charge, help!!

Anonymous, 19 Oct 2016I dropped mine in toilet but despite rice trick it wouldn't charge. I took it for repair under... moreMy Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge fell in the bog after trying to dry myself just after a quick shower. l was using it to play my favourite YouTube music in the bathroom. l had placed it nicely in it's leather and plastic pouch and tucked it inside my big drying towel, so that it doesn't get condensation water inside. It all happened in what seemed to be a split second, l lifted my drying towel and that's when l heard the bang sound and the music turned off soon after. l saw my phone in clear toilet water, in a rush to pick it up, l managed to pull the cover first, the phone slid in. l had to pull it out on it's own and started drying it with my towel, that's when l saw that it had shut it's self down. l didn't know what to do, l banged it repeated on my arm, to try and force water out, holding it in the middle. l then did a daft thing, plugged it into charge and tried switching it on. It brought up the first Samsung logo nice and bright, all of a sudden the screen went green and twitchy, then quickly faded away until the lcd was just black. l then unplugged it from the charger and used my hair dryer to blow dry it, l was surprised to see water droplets come out of the edges of the phone, every drop l managed to get out, l dried it with my towel. After about 20mins, no more water was coming out, so l switched it on thinking that it was in the clear. l don't know if you were born during the black and white TV's, when you were trying to search for signals by tuning the knob, it would often display a horrendous display filled with lines of dots of black and white scattered about. l then went on Google to see if anyone else had gone through what l was in and lucky me, l wasn't alone. l had not realised that the S6 Edge was not waterproof and l mustn't have tried to switch it on because of the possibility of frying the wires inside. That's when l realised that l couldn't switch it off by just depressing the power button, so l left it like that and inserted it into a loose plastic then filled it with rice to absorb the moisture all day. l made sure that the rice was completely covering the phone, some people had suggested to leave it tied up for 2 days but knowing myself very well, l wasn't gonna wait that long. So l went to work and left it with the screen on, l was hoping it would drain out all the power by the time l get back in 9hrs. l wasn't expecting much when l came back home but l was relieved to see that screen turned off. l just opened the plastic bag and took the phone out, pulled some rice out of the sim compartment. Of course the battery was drained, so l put it on charge hoping that the rice did it's job. For about 2mins it didn't show any sign of charging, then it suddenly showed the battery with a little green line and twitched off, l did not remove it from the charger. This continued for the next 5mins or so until l was bored of the happenings. l touched it to feel it's temperature, it was freezing. l thought to myself if the fast charger isn't making it hot by now, l have to use my body's heat to warm it up, so l put it under my chest and slept for about 3hrs then woke up to see if anything had happened. The battery was full up, so l smilled in knowing that it had stopped twitching. Turned it on and it took a little anticipation and boom everything l have was exactly displayed as it was. l first checked my private G+ profile, everything was normal, l then checked my pictures, then YouTube, then sound, everything was normal except for the water droplets in the back camera compartment which is making the pictures blurry, l hope the droplets to have disappeared by the time l should be waking up in 3hrs. l can't help it but say, l'm so relieved, l thought l had lost my 500quid just like that, see l paid cash for my phone and never insured it which was a daft thing to do too hahaha, l'll never learn, for now l'll go back to sleep and see what happens another 3hrs. l'm sleeping on it again.
I dropped mine in toilet but despite rice trick it wouldn't charge. I took it for repair under warranty and kept quiet about the toilet praying they wouldn't detect water damage. Any they didn't so replacement mother board at no cost. Ok lost my photos but small price to pay. The rice is essential!
the phone cracked after a first fall of about 30 cm height
I dropped my S6 into my sink whilst I was brushing my teeth... Pulled it out straight away but now I just plugged it in and it won't charge :'( SHIT! What do I dooooooooo?!?!?!?!

AnonD-425774, 07 Aug 2016brother i have samsung s6 edge plus.yesterday i used my mobile in rain.it was working fine.but... moreThis happen to my the baby drop off my s6 edge in the bathtubs just few seconds and when take workin fine but in few minutes the phone turning off and try to tunr on the screen change the colors and don't response the screen i put on rice bag zipplop take out the air and place on my dashboard for couple hours is very hot day in the night take out mi car and waiting one day more now is working perfect and this happen two months ago.
So I had my phone in the back pocket of my pants and as I was going to the toilet it fell out into the toilet. It was submerged for about 5 seconds before I pulled it out. I immediately dried it and swung it around. I grabbed a ziploc bag and some rice to put it in. I only turned it on to shut it off but a notification came through and the sound didn't sound right. So anyway after shutting it off I put it into the rice and set it on the car window in the sun.
When I got home that night, about 12 hours after the accident and it sitting in the sun in rice, I put it in the oven at the lowest temperature and kept the door cracked a little. I've done the oven heating twice now in the last 48 hours of it being off and in rice under heat. I took out the sim card yesterday and there doesn't seem to be any water damage to that and all my camera parts don't have any fog or water in them.
I'm praying like crazy that it works! I've left it off and have tried to do everything I can for it. I will probably use my hair dryer to gentle blow in it. Going to continue nursing it today and tomorrow and I might try to turn it on tomorrow evening.
Any suggestions? Anyone had this happen before and taken these same revival steps? How did your phone do?
I have the Samsung S6 and last night I dropped it in the toilet. I don't exactly remember what happened after I removed it, however it is off and I have tried several times since to turn it on. It is sitting in rice now and it has only been a few hours. Did I possibly ruin it by trying to turn it on?
jackx, 08 Jun 2016Total success...I said in my post last night my camera on phone was still not working properly... moreHi jackx,
I left it in rice for 20 hours or so and switched the phone back on. It's working. However, the front camera isn't. The screen brightness has also dimmed down a bit by 10% so need to make it brighter. Also switches off randomly when not plugged in to a charger. I'm at work right now and will take about 7 hours to reach home. Do you think I should put in rice for a couple fo more days and be (more) patient? Will keeping it on for 7-8 hours be a problem? Kindly let me know, your solution has helped me out.
