Mark, 31 Mar 2015Snapdragon 820 will definitely bring Qualcomm back to the top. Samsung S7 will surely have it.By the time SD 820 comes out, or would be release period for note 5 probably samsung will use exynos which will be way better at maybe 10 nm...

[deleted post]Just a lot of experience in getting let down by impressive specs on a datasheet that turn out to be rather underwhelming when tested in the real world (not to mention the historical atrocious support).

Even when there is a glare of hope that they might have bridged the CPU performance gap, they end-up royally dropping the ball in GPU.

        That's Merdiatek alright!

If you like iOS, there is only one phone to pick from. If you like Windows, well, no flagships in two years. If you like Black Berry, get the Passport. Problem solved.

Secondly:who will be printing Qualcomm SoCs,coz only Samsung and Intel had manufacturing capability on 14nm,and Sammy will be too occupied with their own production as well as Apple next gen SoCs this summer, while Intel isnt even an option for Qualcomm.
TSMC messed big time this time with the shift on new process :/

Mark, 31 Mar 2015Snapdragon 820 will definitely bring Qualcomm back to the top. Samsung S7 will surely have it.Maybe. Maybe not. You forget Samsung made all their own chips in every phone before the Galaxies and up to the S2 and Note 2. Which were the best performers.
They experimented with mixed results in the inbetween years. And then back with the Note 4. They used both versions S805/Exynos 5433. And the Exynos was superior in almost all ways.

The S820 will definitely show you what Qualcomm is all about. But Samsung could easily have something to match or beat it by then.
They could even be on the 10nm process by then. And might even have their own gpu and modem solutions. Which could also give them a win fully, or give a slight edge to Qualcomm in many ways.

The outcomes are not set in stone by any means.

Apple is doing right in going dual-core for their iOS (which was for a very long time oblivious of multitasking).

The other manufacturers are doing right by going with many cores for a multitask heavy OS such as Android, where there can be far too many tasks running in the background at every time.
